Area
The North Devon village of High Bickington is set in the area known as 'Tarka country'. It offers a Post Office, two pubs, a holistic beauty salon and Libbaton golf course. Umberleigh is only five miles away and has a railway station where trains run on the Tarka Line to Barnstaple or Exeter. This area of North Devon has something for everyone including country walks, fishing and golf, as well as good access to a selection of beaches.

Region
Devon, with its quiet country lanes, patchwork of lush green fields and sleepy villages is not to be missed. Stately home lovers will be spoiled and why not finish with a scrumptious Devonshire cream tea?

Private lawned garden with patio area, furniture, chiminea and hot tub. Communal grounds and seating areas. Sorry, no pets and no smoking. Shop and pub 1.7 miles. Note: There are 3 steps up to this property, not suitable for those with limited mobility. Note: There is a Good Housekeeping Bond of £100 at this property. Such a perfect getaway. Just peace, quiet and a well-appointed and comfortable hut, plus hot-tub and chimnea. So quiet and P&L and their staff just leave you to enjoy the peace. Hardly knew anyone else was there - even guests in the other huts. Lots to see and do in the area. Perfect base to explore the area in the day and just chill out and relax in the HT and/or put feet up in the hut and watch Netflix whilst supping on the complimentary bottle of red in the substantial welcome basket of goodies (which was well-selected! Very mellow and smooth!). To misquote Arnie; "We'll be back!!"

I can't recommend the Silver Fox enough. The golf buggies that you use to go from the parking area down to the huts are great fun to drive and add a little something to the experience. The hut itself was beautifully furnished and there is attention to detail to make your stay more comfortable. Everything you need to have a comfortable stay is provided. The setting is magical, the views across the valley are stunning and a delight to wake up to in the morning. Sitting in the hot tub and watching the stars go down is so romantic if you are with a partner. I have never felt so able to relax and just enjoy the moment. I can't wait to return, what a perfect place. The owners have put in C19 safety procedures that made us feel very safe and we had no concerns at all staying in the Silver Fox. I would recommend to anyone.

This place was absolutely amazing, the hosts were so helpful at short notice and went above and beyond what we would expect.. The golf buggy was a great addition to the experience and the cabin had everything we needed. I 100% recommend this place I will definitely be returning.

We were the first customers to use the new shepherds hut the Little Silver Fox.. There are three shepherds huts on the side of a hill over looking a valley. The huts are far enough apart to allow privacy when using the hot tubs. The novel experience of using golf buggies to reach the huts was also a first for us and is necessary as the access is quite steep. Our hosts made us very welcome and provided a basket of treats on arrival. The whole experience was delightful and we would thoroughly recommend the excellently fitted out, comfortable shepherd huts for a relaxing break in a quiet location but within easy reach of the North Devon Coast.
