Miners Dry is a romantic detached single-storey cottage in two acres of National Heritage Site woodland near the Devon hamlet of Gulworthy. The cottage sleeps two people in one double bedroom with an en suite bathroom. On the same level is an open plan living space with seating area with wood burning stove, dining area and kitchen. Outside is a woodland garden around the cottage with a table and chairs and barbecue. Set on the border between Devon and Cornwall, Miners Dry is a peaceful and romantic place with lots to discover on a Devon break.

Devon, with its quiet country lanes, patchwork of lush green fields and sleepy villages is not to be missed. Stately home lovers will be spoiled and why not finish with a scrumptious Devonshire cream tea?

We loved this cosy cottage, with lots of lovely and varied walks from our doorstep.. The history of the area is so interesting and it is a great starting point for exploring other places too. We had such a warm welcome and everything we needed for a relaxing break.

Rosie the owner was brilliant, the welcome was really nice.. Cream tea waiting for us and other goodies on our arrival. Miners dry is a very lovely place to stay, very relaxing holiday, no Wi-Fi , very little mobile phone signal which was also a bonus. We don't want to tell too many people otherwise it will be booked when we want it next time. We will be back. Thank you

We love going to Miner's Dry.. It was out 5th or 6th visit and we go back every year for a rest from life break. Rosie is a great owner and is lovely. On this visit we knew we would be late arriving so she put a heater on and set the wood burner so we could just light it when we arrived. Would thoroughly recommend visiting here. The location is amazing, the quiet is perfect and it's just for 2 adults (dogs welcome too - ours love it too)

I was able to book this holiday through Sykes very easily.. They contacted me when they said they would and the whole transaction was seamless. Miners Dry cottage is beautiful and the surrounding walks are amazing.only 12 minutes drive from Tavistock for all the shopping you need. Such a chilled out holiday! I’m looking forward to booking again.

We loved how secluded the cottage was whilst still being close enough to civilisation should we need help.. The Tamar Trails are literally on the doorstep so there are great walks easily accessible but the rest of Devon and Cornwall are within driving distance too. The cottage had everything we needed for a week away with no frills or excesses. It was clean and cosy and the owner was lovely and welcoming. Normally when we go on holiday we charge around doing stuff but here we spent quite a lot of time just chilling and watching the wildlife from the table and chairs in the front garden, it was so quiet, relaxing and beautiful. We have already recommended it to a friend.

This was our 4th stay at Miners Dry.. We enjoy the peacefulness of its locality and the nearness to the Tamar Trails which we enjoy walking with our dog. Also location is ideal for travelling to many tourist attractions.

Miners Dry is situated in superb walking country within the wooded Tamar Trials and the historical mining area.. Didn't need a car for first 4 days as walked from the cottage, also good for birds, deer, bats etc. Recommend it.

We love Miners' Dry.. We try to get there at least once a year for the secluded and peaceful area. Our dogs love the trails. The owner is lovely and friendly and we love a homemade cream tea. Tavistock is not far away and a lovely town. I would thoroughly recommend a stay here
