Pipistrelle Lodge is a delightful, semi-detached ground floor cottage in the heart of Plymtree, near Honiton in Devon. The cottage can sleep two people in one double bedroom and has a shower room with walk-in shower. There is a large, fitted kitchen and a comfortable sitting room with a dining area. Outside you will find a lovely patio with views stretching across the surrounding rolling countryside. Pipistrelle Lodge is perfect for a couple looking to explore the wonders and delights of Devon.

All ground floor. One super king-size double bedroom (zip/link, can be twin on request). Shower room with walk-in shower, basin and WC. Kitchen. Sitting room with dining area and gas fire.

Area
Plymtree is a delightful village in East Devon, in the valley of the River Otter, surrounded by rolling Devon hills. It is home to a local pub; The Blacksmith Arms and the 14th century parish church of St John the Baptist. A short drive away are plenty of market towns and country walks and of course, the wonderful Jurrassic Coast, making it the perfect destination for a relaxing break, exploring Devon.

Region
Devon, with its quiet country lanes, patchwork of lush green fields and sleepy villages is not to be missed. Stately home lovers will be spoiled and why not finish with a scrumptious Devonshire cream tea?

A lovely cottage in a beautiful part of the country.. Plymtree is sufficiently off the beaten track to be peaceful but is a convient starting point for lots of trips. The accommodation is spacious and the hosts extremely welcoming. The garden is idyllic, overlooking green fields and filled with birdsong.

We had heard it was an excellent holiday home and it really was.. We were welcomed. Everything was spotless and we couldn't have wished for more. My husband is disabled and he was able to get around easily. An extra chair was provided in the shower space for him. He felt safe and secure in there too. Birdsong, peace and a lovely view were an added bonus. Come prepared for country lanes!

Pipistrelle Lodge is beautiful and we cannot wait to return there.. It is without doubt the best holiday cottage we have ever stayed in; a spacious bungalow it offers comforts that far outweigh other holiday lets such as comfortable seating, heavy curtains, and a Hypnos bed. From the sitting room window extensive views of the Devonshire countryside will take your breath away. Far from the madding crowds Pipistrelle is a place for rest and quietude where mind, body and soul is recharged and refreshed.

Beautifully clean, comfortable and well kept cottage.. Owners cottage is attached but completely separate, not intrusive at all. Shared patio and full use of the garden. Lovely views from the lounge window and bird feeders to watch many varieties of birds that come to eat the seeds and nuts. Very helpful and ready to answer any questions if needed. Lovely quiet village with small shop and pub serving delicious evening meals. Lots of things to see and do in the area as well as walks straight from the door. Highly recommend this cottage.

Building work noice Interrupted our peace for two days.. Buildet on the sight making noice from 10am to 7.00pm. This was not Expected and was not told to us earlier otherwise we would have not postponed our holiday hrnce it would be appropriate to refund our money for those two noisy days. This cottage was immaculate, clean, comfortable and the owners were very nice.. We love the bird feeders outside the window and the views. The community shop five minutes walk away was an added bonus, basic items and much more. The Blacksmith Arms is only open in the evenings weekdays Saturday midday and evening and Sunday lunch. We would definitely recommend this cottage.

We loved the accommodation, which was spacious, comfortable, warm, very quiet and well-equipped.. It was good to have 2 TVs, which allowed us to watch different programmes at the same time. The owners are very pleasant and kindly provided a number of food and drink items. There was a nice view across the fields. We saw lots of different birds and it was amusing to see squirrels trying to reach the bird feeders. We did a lot of walking, some of it on way-marked field paths but much of it on very quiet lanes. We ate twice at the village pub, which was very good, and once at The Merry Harriers at Westcott, which was excellent; this was an easy 2½ mile walk along the quiet lane. We visited Killerton Park and Gardens (National Trust) and did a pleasant 4 mile walk. The weather was dry the whole time, which was good for January.

The lodge was very spacious, warm, comfortable with beautiful views of the local countryside.. The owners were friendly and very helpful and made us very welcome. The Village of Plymtree was attractive with a lovely old church. The only problem was the local roads are very narrow and difficult with oncoming traffic especially large lorries but most drivers were sensible we avoided any accidents. Being National Trust members we visited most of the local homes in the area as far away as Plymouth. Up until the last 2 days the weather was warm and sunny but then Storm Calann arrived and the wind blew all the leaves from the trees which up until that point were changing colour and looked wonderful. All in all we enjoyed our trip and stay.
