The Cottage with its own indoor swimming pool, is a gorgeous thatched, cottage, 1¼ miles from Sampford Courtenay. The Cottage can sleep six people in three ground floor bedrooms, each with their own en suite facilities. Inside the lofty, beamed, open-plan living space with kitchen and dining area, has a wood burning stove and French windows. Outside is a huge decked terrace with table and chairs, and panoramic views to Dartmoor over the owners' 205 wooded acres. Centrally located for exploring Devon, The Cottage is a peaceful base in lovely countryside.

Over two floors. Three ground floor bedrooms: 1 x super king-size double (6' zip-linked, 6'6" long bed) with en suite bathroom, 1 x double with en suite bathroom, 1x twin with en suite shower-room. First floor open-plan living area with sitting area, with wood burning stove, French windows to decked terrace, kitchen and dining area. First floor WC and basin. External laundry/utility room.

Area
Sampford Courtenay, a sleepy but picturesque Devon village, and Okehampton, a thriving community known as ‘the gateway to the moor'. The whole area is a country lover's dream. The high tors of northern Dartmoor dominate the scenery and provide a splendid backdrop to nearby Okehampton

Devon, with its quiet country lanes, patchwork of lush green fields and sleepy villages is not to be missed. Stately home lovers will be spoiled and why not finish with a scrumptious Devonshire cream tea?

Note: Pets are not allowed in the bedrooms. Note: This property is approached over ½ mile rough hardcore farm track. Note: Indoor heated swimming pool is available from 9am to 7pm and at other times by arrangement. Note: Paddocks and a covered yard are available for horses, by arrangement. Note: Disposable BBQ's are not allowed.

Just finished a week here. Absolutely stunning. Very rural, peaceful and quaint. Loved it. Swimming pool fabulous. Lots of lovely walks. The cottage is well equipped, in the kitchen lots of utensils everything you need. Log burner, Wi-Fi and sky tv. Owners very welcoming and friendly.

Very comfortable cottage with lots of pots and pans, great crockery and cutlery.. Swimming pool perfect temperature. Lovely countryside and an excellent location to explore Dartmoor. Bluebells near Meldon Quarry exceptional at the end of April when we visited.

A very nice cottage, the drive is long and a little rough, but well worth it for the views of Dartmoor from the patio, The pool is in a barn across the yard but is warm, and a great swim in late October, Beds are great, lounge large, kitchen has everything you could need,champagne and pint glasses! An hour from Port Isac, an hour from Croyd, an hour from Beer, so very central!! Great star viewing as it is full dark!! at night. Great bird life from Wrens-Buzzards. A great break away from the bustle of modern life.

The information about an enclosed terrace garden is a bit misleading.. With two dogs, we had thought it would be a bit more than the terrace from the living area for them to use.

Totally relaxing and very peaceful.. Cottage was very comfortable and clean. A very informative booklet, great walks with lots of nature including deer. The swimming pool was a great added bonus.

Having just returned from this lovely cottage, i thought i would write a review about it! The cottage is lovely and has everything you could need for your holiday, very clean and welcoming, The family that own it live on site, but they are lovely and welcoming but leave you alone to enjoy your holiday. The indoor pool was a great hit with my 6 year old grandson and was a godsend for the couple of days it rained! They provide all the pool towels and a laundry room, the cottage is down a long bumpy track but if you take your time it is easy to drive down, beautiful views, even saw the deer in the fields and the buzzard flying about, If you want a relaxing holiday this is definately the place to go, we would recommend this place to anyone, and won't hesitate to go back
