Area Sourton Down is resting on the edge of Dartmoor National Park, with a Shell garage serving takeaway food and selling any essentials, as well as a pub and a bike hire shop. Nearby Meldon has a quarry, viaduct and reservoir which each offer scenic spots and great walking routes to spot all three. Nearby, Okehampton is home to the ruins of a medieval castle, the Museum of Dartmoor Life, a golf club, a train station and ample shops, bars and eateries.
Region Devon, with its quiet country lanes, patchwork of lush green fields and sleepy villages is not to be missed. Stately home lovers will be spoiled and why not finish with a scrumptious Devonshire cream tea?
