The Linhay is a smart apartment one mile from the pretty village of Lydford.The Linhay can sleep two people in one double bedroom and has an open-plan living area with wood burning stove and great moorland views, kitchen and dining area. There is also a smart bathroom with roll top bath. Outside you have access to 20 acres of fields, woodland and lake, a small enclosed patio with furniture and parking for two cars. Located in one of the most scenic parts of Dartmoor, The Linhay is an excellent place for walking, cycling or relaxing.

All first floor. One king-size double bedroom. Open plan living area with sitting area with wood burning stove, kitchen and dining area. Bathroom with roll-top bath, hand-held shower shower, basin and WC.

Area
Nestling among mature woodland on the western slopes of Dartmoor, the historic village of Lydford is a jewel in this area of outstanding scenic beauty. To the north, just half a mile away, the high tors come right down to the village edge, while to the south the River Lyd winds its way through Lydford Forest on its tumbling course northwards.

Region
Devon, with its quiet country lanes, patchwork of lush green fields and sleepy villages is not to be missed. Stately home lovers will be spoiled and why not finish with a scrumptious Devonshire cream tea?

Our 2nd stay and as with the first it was again just perfect.. Comfortable accommodation in such a great setting. Gate from property direct onto Dartmoor. Location is great for Lydford Gorge and Tavistock for shopping. The location means you can go south,west or north for those days out.

Cottage was lovely, setting was lovely, area is beautiful.. We had a really nice time. Minor, minor issues - it would have been great to be able to open the door and let the dogs straight out into the garden. Also might be worth mentioning there are chickens in the grounds.

Absolutely brilliant, gorgeous location, and accommodation was just great.. Can't fault it . Highly recommended, you really must stay here . We will definitely be back for another holiday. Thanks for a lovely holiday, and dog friendly too . !!!. These two dogs enjoyed exploring Dartmoor and the surrounding area.

A lovely Cottage with every thing we needed, peaceful and quite.. Being on the very edge of the moor our dog thought he had gone to doggy heaven. only one sore point, my head, as one wall had a slope which came down to within 2 ft of the floor. Ok when you got use to it. G Denness

We spent a relaxing week at the Linhay and were really impressed with the accommodation.. The facilities and furnishings are all of a high quality and the owners are friendly and helpful. We’ll defiantly consider a repeat stay when we visit beautiful Dartmoor again.

An excellent property which is equipped with quality items.. Good location. Excellent local pub for food. Congregation at Lydford Church very friendly and interested in visitors. Lots of places to visit within reasonable driving distance.

A beautiful spot and a wonderful rental apartment (though it somehow feels big enough to be a house). I've rented a lot of holiday cottages and this is the best I have found - it was spotless, thoughtfully designed and comfortable throughout with some lovely little quirky design pieces thrown in. As everyone has commented on the cream tea and eggs welcome - it was great but top marks with the dog treats and how did they know my dog's favourite brand?? I guess because Danielle and Dave are naturally intuitive - approachable, helpful and discreet - perfect. The setting is magnificent. You are right next to Lydford Gorge though for us the weather was so good that we felt like being out on the moors rather than somewhere under dark cover. The gate really does open onto one of the finest Dartmoor moors. I can't think what else to say really - no downsides and we will definitely be back if we're allowed! Thank you

We stayed at the Linhay in Lydford, Dartmoor Nat Park for our holiday. We had a fantastic time and were made very welcome by the owners by local treats. Also our dogs were not forgotten! The moors are just a few steps from the Linhay and the area has a lot to offer, with Lydford Gorge (NT) within walking distance, one of the highlights for ourselves. The cottage is very modern and comfertable and there was not anything we missed, everything we needed was there, even local maps etc were there. We were made to feel very welcome from our arrival with scones and cream and even the dog was left a treat. The property is beautifully renovated with homely accessories and you can walk straight from the property onto the moors. There is lots to do within a short drive and the nearest bigger town Tavistock is great for shopping and eating. This was one of our best holidays of all time as its such a peaceful part of the world. I would definately recommend!
