The Linhay is a charmingly converted stone barn in a tiny Dartmoor hamlet near the Devon village of Throwleigh. The cottage sleeps four in two bedrooms with a family bathroom. On the ground floor is an open-plan living/dining/kitchen and boot room/lobby/cloakroom. Outside is an enclosed garden with patio and five acres of meadow and stream to wander, plus parking for one car. About five miles from the small towns of Okehampton and Chagford, The Linhay is a super base for walking and cycling Dartmoor. Two dogs welcome fee for second dog.

Over two levels. Two upstairs bedrooms: 1 x double, 1 x single. Bathroom with bath, hand-shower, shower, WC and basin. Downstairs living/dining/kitchen with French windows. Boot room/lobby. WC with basin.

Area
A picturesque town at the northern point of Dartmoor National Park in Devon, Chagford is small in size but is packed with amenities and things to do. There is a wide range of shops as well as four pubs. Chagford also has more active facilities such as public tennis court and an open-air swimming pool to enjoy at your leisure.

Region
Devon, with its quiet country lanes, patchwork of lush green fields and sleepy villages is not to be missed. Stately home lovers will be spoiled and why not finish with a scrumptious Devonshire cream tea?

The cottage was so well equipped.. Although small it fitted in everything perfectly. Great condition and homely. The walled garden was charming and I almost wished I had a dog as would have been perfect with one.

Although only a short drive from the A30, this cottage is situated on a peaceful country lane leading down to the moor.. The cottage was elegant and brilliantly equipped - nothing had been left to chance. The mattress on the king size bed was firm and fabulous - and ensured good sleeps. The beautiful and well-tended walled garden was happily secure enough for even the most adventurous of springer spaniels who spent many happy hours hunting the flower beds for squirrels whilst I lazed on the bench reading books. Genuinely dog-friendly, there is a stair-gate ensuring dogs can't accidentally explore upstairs and a roomy utility room where dogs can enjoy their own space. Peace of mind for everyone. Ideally suited to those who enjoy walking and those who appreciate the beauty and quiet of Dartmoor, the cottage offered a warm and cosy haven after a morning yomping across the moor.

The cottage and garden was ideal for ourselves and the dogs ,the garden being completely enclosed and safe ,with the gentle walk down the lane to the lake ,for an evening stroll .. the situation in a quiet village was perfect ,with lots of things of interest in the area for days out . truly first class.
