December 2017
This cottage has been the most amazing blessing! Situated in the rolling hills of Devon, with easy reach of Exmoor and Exeter, Salters is a wonderful place to stay!
It is an old barn which has been renovated to the highest standard we could imagine and eco friendly too!
It has a wonderful traditional / modern mix and is well thought out. Downstairs is composed of an open plan kitchen / Living / diner. The kitchen is hand painted and fitted out really well. There was nothing we could have looked for that wasn’t provided. Old beams, oak floors, good art, well placed lighting and wonderful views make the downstairs somewhere you want to sit and enjoy. Under floor heating ensures that December days are cosy!
Everything is done in great taste resulting in style, comfort and a huge feel good factor. The spectacular views over meadowland are maximised by the use of glazed doors and large, low windows.
Upstairs the 2 bedrooms are again stylish with comfortable beds and quality linen.
The bathroom has a power drench shower and the thick, fluffy John Lewis towels make the experience that of a top hotel room. Views from the bedrooms are equally good.
Oli and Hen, the owners are delightful and made us incredibly welcome. They provided milk, tea, coffee, cereal. They are at the same time both down to earth farmers and interior designers with great style!
We visited Crediton with its interesting Church and plentiful shops. The Lamb in Sandford is a great pub with a hearty fire and good food.
We extended our stay to 10 days because this place was so good and so relaxing.
We’d highly recommend this cottage. It’s the most lovely cottage we have ever stayed in, and we have stayed in many!
Thank you Oli and Hen!
