Barnshelley Lodge is a luxury wooden lodge in the grounds of the owners' home, 1.5 miles from the village of Copplestone and within driving distance of Exeter. This cottage sleeps four people and has a zip/link super king-size double with en-suite, a double, a bathroom and an open plan living area with kitchen, dining area and a sitting area with woodburner. Outside there's off road parking for two cars and an enclosed lawned garden with a decked veranda, furniture and barbecue. Barnshelley Lodge is an excellent base for exploring the Devon countryside.

All ground floor. Two bedrooms: 1 x super king-size double (zip/link, can be twin on request) with en-suite walk-in shower, basin and WC, 1 x double. Bathroom with bath, shower over, basin and WC. Open plan living area with kitchen, dining area and sitting area with woodburner. Utility.

Area
The mid Devon village of Copplestone is situated in lovely green countryside, four miles from the town of Crediton and a twenty minute drive from the cathedral city of Exeter. Copplestone has a shop and pub, as well as the Copplestone Cross, which is said to mark the centre of Devon, with many believing it dates back to the 10th century. There's also a station at Copplestone, from where you can catch a train on the renowned Tarka Line.

Region
Devon, with its quiet country lanes, patchwork of lush green fields and sleepy villages is not to be missed. Stately home lovers will be spoiled and why not finish with a scrumptious Devonshire cream tea?

Enclosed lawned garden with decked veranda and furniture. Sorry, no pets and no smoking. Shop 1.5 miles, pub 6 mins walk. Shower stool available on request. Please note: This property accepts last minute breaks.

This is one of the cleanest and comfortable places we have stayed, the owner made us very welcome and left us an excellent welcome pack which included a lovely homemade cake.. The quality of the accommodation was in our opinion outstanding with every home comfort. We visited the Devonshire Dumpling for pub food twice and were very impressed with not only the food but we also felt very ‘Covid safe’. This is a lovely quiet location for a get away from it all holiday.

Barn Shelley is an absolutely lovely place to stay.. Perfect surroundings and great location in mid Devon. The lodge has everything you would ever need and more, the scenery was perfect and the sheep neighbours are very well behaved. Audrey the owner was around when needed but left you undisturbed. My daughters helped bottle feed some lambs and it was one of their highlights of the year. We will definitely return - 5*!

Barn Shelly lodge is one of the best places we have stayed in.. My husband had never stayed in a wooden lodge he loved it and wanted to stay. Complete directions.. Spotless. Welcome breakfast kit and cake were an unexpected surprise. The lodge is furnished with everything (and more) one wants on a holiday. Setting is idyllic. Barn Shelley Lodge was outstanding.. Everything about the lodge was excellent, the finish and the quality of everything from towels to bedding to kitchen equipment was fabulous. The surroundings are beautiful and the views from every window are gorgeous as are the friendly sheep. Audrey was very helpful and nothing was too much trouble. We had a delicious home baked cake left amongst other local goodies for us to enjoy which was very much appreciated. We would recommend Barn Shelley Lodge to anyone and hope to return in the future for another relaxing holiday.

Beautiful lodge in idyllic setting.. Pictures don’t quite do it justice - you just have to book it and be prepared to fall in love!!! It was exceptionally clean with high quality fittings, furniture etc. Hosts were helpful and attentive. We thoroughly recommend this log cabin! Perfectly situated to explore the whole of Devon as indeed we did!

Barn Shelley lodge was absolutely fantastic, I would go as far as to say it’s the best one yet ( although others have been good).. The owners were very nice and friendly without imposing. The setting was brilliant so peaceful, yet not too far from attractions. Everything you may need was included, the kitchen was above first class, it was fully equipped with high quality cutlery, crockery, pans, and utensils. The sofas were extremely comfortable and the beds gave you a wonderful nights sleep. There was plenty of literature about places to visit, there were torches should you need them. Having a washing machine and a dryer in the laundry room was a bonus as was a dishwasher in the kitchen. My wife and I said that it was the most restful and enjoyable holiday in this country that we have had.

If it’s complete rest and relaxation Barn Shelley Lodge in Copplestone fits the bill exactly. We have just returned from 2 weeks there and it is the most beautiful setting for a stunning lodge. It has everything you may need, a fantastic well equipped kitchen, 2 extremely comfortable sofas, beds that are sumptuous, an ensuite shower room with a fantastic shower that was the best way to start a day, plus a bathroom with shower over bath. The views were wonderful from the front porch which you can sit on and admire the surroundings and watch the “neighbours” (sheep). You are within fairly easy reach of several things to do, RHS Rosemoor, Powderham Castle, Tiverton for a bit of retail therapy, Bow garden centre for a very yummy Sunday lunch, Darlington Crystal and Dartmoor with the ponies. The owners were very friendly and the welcome pack was much appreciated. We returned home totally refreshed and have already decided that we will definitely be booking again for next year.

Wow, Barn Shelly is fabulous.. Sheer luxury, everything is to the highest specification. It is in a terrific location, for sight seeing, for footpaths on the door step, for a vast selection of great pubs within a 10-15 minute drive, for peace and quiet. What more could we ask for? What about a welcome pack - there was homemade apple juice, eggs, biscuits, bread , tea , coffee , milk and a friendly welcome from Audrey. The lodge is surrounded by fields with a pedigree flock to keep you entertained. We loved it and we are sure you will. The brochure photos do not do justice to Barn Shelly.

During our week storm Emma and what the BBC called the beast from the east arrived.. The water pump froze so we had no water. Audrey and Terry worked tirelessly in freezing conditions to solve this problem and Audrey offered bottled water in the interim. The temperatures were sub zero and then snow arrived and we were truly snowed in. Audrey checked we were warm and comfortable throughout this bad weather and that we had everything we needed. On the day we were due to leave the snow was still bad and Audrey told us not to feel we had to leave and that we were welcome to stay an extra night until conditions improved. As we have a 4 wheel drive car we were able (just!!) to make our way to the main road. Audrey texted later in the afternoon to check we had got home safely. Audrey gave us a very warm welcome and we had a lovely welcome pack of cookies, milk, bread, apple juice & eggs. She provided excellent hospitality and comfort. The lodge itself was stunning. It was spotlessly clean and very well equipped with all mod cons you would ever need. We would certainly love to visit again but maybe in the summer next time!

We could not fault the lodge or the welcome we received.. The purpose built cabin was immaculately clean, extremely well equipped and very comfortable. The owners were very friendly and helpful.
