Willow Cottage is a semi-detached cottage located near the village of Bakewell in the Peak District National Park. The property can sleep six people in three bedrooms, a king size, a double and a twin room, there is also a family bathroom and a cloakroom. Also inside there is a kitchen diner and a sitting room with a gas fire. To the outside you will find off road parking for two cars and a rear garden with a lawn, decking with furniture and a river running across the bottom. Please note that for property insurance purposes, car charging is strictly prohibited. There are several charging points in the local areas including Bakewell. Willow Cottage is a warming property in a superb location for exploring the Peak District National Park.

Area
Set on the banks of the River Wye is Ashford in the Water. The village offers stone cottages, two pubs, a restaurant and a shop. The market town of Bakewell is only two miles away and boasts a number of shops, restaurants and pubs. Nearby is Chatsworth House and Hardwick Hall, plus within driving distance is Alton Towers.

The ultimate in “year-round” appeal, the Peak District offers countryside, picturesque villages and magnificent scenery. It touches upon six counties and encloses 555 square miles of open moorland, flowing rivers, and wooded dales.

Gas central heating with gas fire. Electric range cooker and electric hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, washing machine, dishwasher, TV with Freeview, Wi-Fi, DVD, sound system. Fuel and power inc. in rent. Bed linen and towels inc. in rent. Off road parking 2 cars. Rear lawn and decking with furniture. Sorry, no pets and no smoking. Shop and pub 5 minute walk. Note: The unfenced river Wye runs along the bottom of the garden, care must be taken and children must be supervised at all times in the garden. Note: This property may not be suitable for toddlers and young children due to the unfenced river at the rear of the property. Note: Winter Short Break arrivals on Saturday and Monday only, please. Please note that for property insurance purposes, car charging is strictly prohibited. There are several charging points in the local areas including in Bakewell.

Great location, lovely village shop and very near to the start of lots of great walks.. Very nicely appointed cottage, enjoyed watching the ducks and swans on the river. Great to have smart TV with Netflix for the children. Some instructions on rubbish/recycling might have been helpful. Only slightly negative comment is on the beds, especially the master bedroom. The mattress was extremely soft (though of good quality) and if you are used to a firmer mattress, like I am, it caused havoc with my back!! In my experience of rentals/hotels I think it is better to have a firmer/orthopaedic mattress.

Beautifull village location.. Cottage great. Warm clean good bedding, lots of towels, comfortable sofas. Garden pretty and river views a bonus. Would definitely book again. Only slight negatives for owner are in kitchen area to adjust are saucepans very tired scratched. No clean scourers//cloths . Only 2 dishwasher tablets and no washing powder also. O usual supply of foil and cling film and only enough washing up liquid for one wash. Seems petty but for the price of property would usually find these things provided. All said we had fabulous week in our favourite place The Peak District. Thankyou

Everything exceeded our expectations, from the bottle of Fizz when we arrived, to the standard of bed linen and facilities.. The central heating and fire in the lounge made it so cosy in the evenings and the location was great, with a choice of pubs a couple of minutes walk away. We will certainly return!

Ashford in the Water may be the best location from which to tour the Peak District.. It is a lovely village on the aRiver Wye. Willow Cottage is wonderful...clean, roomy and beautifully furnished and fully equipped. The garden fronting on the river is amazing. We loved having wine on the deck over-looking the river and feeding the ducks.

We had a lovely holiday in Willow cottage.. It was very comfortable, the owner was very friendly. The river running by the end of the garden was just fantastic - we fed the ducks, swans and moorhens every day. The village is great - fab local shop, two pubs and a tearoom! Such a pretty location. Great walking in the area. We also visited Chesterfield, the Heights of Abraham and the Derwent Valley Mills. We hope to be back very soon.

Convenient location for walks and exploring the area.. Very quiet. Garden and outdoor facilities excellent. Good decor. Just a few shortcomings in equipment, such as no bowl/dish small enough to fit in the microwave, frying pan small if cooking for 6. Two pubs within a couple of minutes walking. Enjoyed our stay

The whole package was just right, accommodation, location, village, pubs, restaurants, food, walks, tourist spots etc etc.. More time in the Derbyshire Dales and Peak District is on my to do list for the future, and the Bakewell pudding! Wow.

The cottage was immaculate and had everything we needed.. The beds were comfy, kitchen was modern and included a Range which we used. The lounge was nice and the bathroom was amazing- better than our one at home. The village had a shop and the pub opposite does lovely food. The location was ideal - easy to access lots of different places in the Peak District. I would definitely recommend his cottage. PS Kids were happy as there is WiFi.

A fabulous cottage and location.. We really enjoyed our stay in Willow Cottage, the house was decorated beautifully for Christmas and was warm and welcoming, and we loved being by the river and watching the ducks. Ashford is a lovely village and we made the most of the park, church and Bulls Head pub with family. It's a great location for exploring the area by car and on foot - we walked to Bakewell and Monsal Head, visited Chatsworth, and enjoyed the stunning scenery. The Wifi was a bonus! We are definitely planning to come back again.
