Area
Sedbergh, pronounced Sed-Ber by locals, is an ancient market town in northern Dentdale, situated just inside the Yorkshire Dales National Park. The town itself is full of narrow streets, little shops, traditional pubs and boasts a famous school dating back to 1536. Its 12th century church has an olde worlde atmosphere and is also well worth visiting when looking to discover the town's history. Dentdale is often described as the jewel of the Yorkshire Dales and offers rolling hills and dry stone walls, whilst 14 miles away is the windswept moor of Whernside – the place where the rivers Dee and Rawthey converge. At the centre of the dale is the settlement of Dent, also packed with picturesque cobbled streets – some of which have existed since Norman times. There are three golf courses in the vicinity as well as tennis, riding, and fishing facilities. For those who prefer a peaceful day rambling through the countryside, the area is a walker's paradise.

Impressive mountains, open fells and clear-water lakes, the Lake District has it all. From walking in the mountains to exhilarating watersports or just a gentle cruise on a steam-powered yacht, Cumbria is the perfect holiday destination.
