Further afield, close to Windermere Lake, Kirkstone Pass is 7.5 miles from home and the place to visit if you re a keen mountain biker. Make your way through the courtyard and into the welcoming kitchen/diner which boasts terrific views up to Glenridding Dodd and has all you need to cater for every occasion. Spacious and light, spend time at the table with a morning brew and a ponder over a map of the local area to make plans for the day ahead. With seating for four guests, enjoy communal meals at the dining table and time spent together. For some downtime, switch on the TV or pop your favourite DVD on and sit back, relax and stay warm by the wood burner.
