We spent a brilliant week at Shepherds Crook earlier this year. The cottage is beautifully decorated, airy and light and we loved the little touches like the nightlights and the games cupboard. Having parking included and being across the road from the bus stop made it easy to travel around the area. The location is great for everything in the village and there’s always a bit of a buzz in the street outside. The bedrooms are all doubles and with 3 bathrooms and 4 toilets in total so there are no queues in the morning. The property was well equipped – dishwasher, washer/drier, iron/ironing table, boot drier in the separate boot room, smart TV and smart speaker – and beautifully decorated and furnished. Jamie and Cheryl, the owners have clearly given a lot of thought to their guests’ needs and experience and created a very welcoming environment. We had a couple of minor issues but these were dealt with promptly, efficiently and courteously – in fact the communication and customer service from Jamie was always above and beyond. I would thoroughly recommend Shepherds Crook to anyone thinking of a holiday in The Lakes as a family or group of friends

This is a high spec, tastefully decorated comfortable house. Great location in Grasmere for cafe's, shops and bus stops or a starting off point for walks. Great views for watching people go by or for looking up at the hillside.
Spacious bootroom at the front door and then spacious rooms over the 1st and 2nd floors. Comfortable beds with high quality linen. Extremely useful parking permit for the nearby Stock Lane car park meant we could leave the car there all week.
Well equipped as a home from home but also boutique hotel style and quality. Can't imagine anywhere else in the village being better.
Would come back again and again. Loved it.

Everything was lovely.. Very clean. Not for people who can't manage a few stairs.
The only downside for us is its not dog friendly. But will be back for group get aways

Shepherds Crook is conveniently located in the quiet village of Grasmere, a very short walk to pubs, cafes, shops etc.. Stunning scenery on the doorstep (and out of the window). The property itself is in very good condition, decorated and furnished to a high standard with everything you need for a week away. Bedrooms are great size too. The only negatives which are very minor - the boot room is too cold to dry anything and it would be great to have a drying rack for washing.

Really well presented house with lots of space and a very appointed kitchen with a washer dryer (great for sorting clothes after long muddy hikes).. The house was prepped for Christmas with a fully decorated tree and all the trimmings with a welcome bottle of Prosecco and a personalised welcome message to the family. 5 stars!
