Poppy's Cottage is a stunning terraced cottage located in the village of Grasmere in the Lake District. It comes with two bedrooms which include a king-size with an en-suite and a further king-size with zip/link beds, as well as a bathroom, the property can sleep four people. The interior also comes with an open-plan living area boasting a kitchen, a dining area and a sitting area with a woodburning stove. The exterior provides permit parking, a rear courtyard with furniture and a utility outbuilding. Poppy's Cottage is a characterful cottage, in the centre of a stunning village and with much going on in the surrounding area. Please note: The property only accepts bookings beginning on the 5th, 12th, 19th and 28th December 2024.

Accomodation Details
Two bedrooms: 1 x king-size with en-suite shower, basin and WC, 1 x king-size (zip/link, can be twins on request). Bathroom with roll-top bath with hand held shower, separate shower, basin and WC. Open-plan living area with kitchen, dining area and sitting area with woodburning stove.

Area
Grasmere, in the Lake District, is best known as the home of William Wordsworth. It boasts the famous Grasmere Gingerbread shop as well as shops, pubs, a 13th century church and Grasmere Lake. Five miles away is Ambleside and Lake Winderemere with shops, pubs, restaurants and the 17th century Bridge House. Cruises, boat trips and water sports can all be enjoyed on Lake Windermere.

Impressive mountains, open fells and clear-water lakes, the Lake District has it all. From walking in the mountains to exhilarating watersports or just a gentle cruise on a steam-powered yacht, Cumbria is the perfect holiday destination.

Note: Parking in local car park with a permit, the permit is left in the property for guests arrival and convenience, please note that there is just one permit. Please note that a Good Housekeeping Bond of £200 will apply to all bookings made after the 4th September 2023. Just back from a weeks hols in Poppy’s cottage , stayed with another couple of friends, had wow factor for us , done out to a high spec with quality fittings , roll top bath perfect after long walks we did, beds king size and so comfy, down stairs was lovely, smart tv , Bose speaker , 2 very comfortable sofas to chill on , this flows through to a modern kitchen with every appliance you need, off this is little yard with table & chairs and laundry room, nice touch is car parking permit only 2 mins down road, in fact everything is 2 mins away due to excellent location, highly recommend, will be back. I would highly recommend Poppys cottage.. The owners have finished the property to a high standard and on arrival spotlessly clean. We had a lovely holiday in this lovely cottage and would return without any hesitation.

We had a super week in this very cosy and comfortable cottage.. It is beautifully decorated and maintained and in a perfect location. Village has good places to eat and drink, and there is a good co op around the corner . Great walks from the front door so we didn't need to use the car and a good bus service from across the road. We loved our week in Poppy' s and hope to return.

Great location, beautiful cottage with great home comforts.. Only 2 minor negatives. Terrible smell in en suite bathroom which we could not get rid of so we didnt use it. And the radiator would not turn down so was unbearably hot. Also, the car park permit system is not ideal. we came from the north and late on so going to Windermere to collect it was not on our agenda. And we would have had to return it on the last day. A real faff. We got round it being in Grasmere at Christmas there was plenty of parking. There needs to be a better system for it. Otherwise a great holiday will probably return again. Thankyou

Beautifully presented cottage in a central location on the green in the village.. Exceptionally clean with all the amenities required for any form of holiday. A lovely location with great cafes and restaurants close by, we would highly recommend this property and would gladly book it again.

Poppy’s Cottage is everything we wanted in a holiday home and more.. We instantly felt relaxed and at a home away from home. There was only 2 of us staying in the cottage but it felt plenty big enough for more people. The location in Grasmere was perfect. We hardly used our car throughout the whole week because we could walk to everything. It was a beautiful week and we look forward to returning next year.

The cottage was beautiful, comfy and above all clean! ! The attention to detail was outstanding as was the decor and furnishings. We will definitely be back at Poppys Cottage.

This is a lovely cottage placed right in the very heart of Grasmere.. The owner has renovated Poppy's Cottage to a very high spec indeed and there is everything you could possibly need and then some. Tastefully decorated throughout and having the benefit of 2 bathrooms ( a large family and an en suite). The cottage is very comfortable and has only just been renovated and put on the holiday market so is all shiny and new and far superior to some cottages we have experienced. The TV is also a proper 4k large unit, so we got our evening 'strictly takes 2' fix with Zoe in style. We also had pretty good weather too, not bad for October!. The annex houses the washer/dryer and a thoughtfully placed panel heater and hooks are provided to dry your wet walking gear. There are numerous great walks right from the door and we barely used the car all week....parking was no issue due to the parking permit allowing us to park the car 24/7 in a nearby car park about 100 yards away, you are allowed to unload right outside the door too which is useful. We turned up on the first Friday of the month which is market day, but the stall holders helped us gain access and then we had some nice produce to buy right on the doorstep!. Sykes Cottages who handle this property were superb from start to finish, very helpful and friendly staff making this a lovely holiday experience. We would highly recommend both Sykes and this super Cottage.

We have just come back from a week in this beautiful cottage. The cottage is beautifully recently refurbished to the highest degree. Everything you need is on hand. Grasmere is a lovely little village with many coffee shops & restauants to choose from. You can park outside for an hour off load. We have stayed in many cottages over the years, but this has to be the best. A stunning little gem in Grasmere. We will be back.

We absolutely loved Poppy's Cottage.. The location was fantastic. We didn't have to use the car all week as there are so many wonderful walks from Grasmere. The cottage is beautiful. It is so well coordinated with so much attention to detail. We felt extremely comfortable here we will definitely be back!

Poppys is beautifully equipped and maintained.. The location is great within walking distance of many lovely places, good access on public transport (I recommend the 599 open bus on a sunny day!) and with a car, most of the Lake District is accessible within an hour. The arrangement with the local car-park, the late night Co-op and Lucias made the stay all the more pleasurable. There are at least a dozen great places to eat within walking distance of Poppys and we tried most of them. And apart from the gingerbread habit we picked up, it was fantastic.

Poppy's cottage is newly refurbished and it is absolutely charming! They really did it right - the attention to detail is stunning. Every need has been taken care of from laundry detergent to cookies and tea to ensuite bathrooms. The combination of history and modern conveniences is exactly what I was looking for. I booked late and couldn't believe my luck in finding this wonderful cottage. I had been combing through MANY pictures when I found Poppy's Cottage. It turns out that it had only just come on the market so I just lucked out. This cottage will book up. Upon arrival, I found pamphlets, brochures and maps to help me plan my trip, next to the tea and cookies. The owners were perfect hosts and Sykes Cottage personnel were very helpful. I could not have asked for anything better. The cottage is beautiful, comfortable and perfectly located in the center of town. I was so happy to wake up and come home each day to spend time in this beautiful cottage. I came all the way to the Lake District from California, USA. My trip was everything I had hoped for and more (and I'm fussy). Thank you to Jo and Andrew for making one of my bucket list trips a dream come true.

Poppy Cottage is a 'little piece of paradise' in a beautiful Lakeland village.. It is very well appointed and extremely comfortable with a lovely homely and relaxing atmosphere. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend. The only disappointing aspect to our stay; we had to leave!!!
