Stroll 2 miles out of town to the historic Castlerigg Stone Circle or attempt the renowned 3.5 mile Catbells walk, which starts on the other side of the lake, 5 miles away. The Derwentwater launch stops close by for a lift back to town and also disembarks at Lingholm, where you can see the garden that inspired Beatrix Potter s tales.
