Explore the beautiful Derwentwater by kayak or rowing boat, or for a less strenuous pace jump on a cruise. The Solway Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with little seaside villages like Silloth (25 miles) and Allonby (18 miles) is well worth a day trip. Enter the house via the smaller side door into the spacious utility area with plenty of room for coats and muddy boots. Here you ll find the washing machine, tumble dryer and fridge/freezer. Head through to the bright kitchen equipped with a double oven, ceramic hobs, a microwave, slow cooker and slimline dishwasher, and boasting wonderful views. The wood panelled dining room has a wood burner and table for five, perfect for gathering for a delicious meal after a busy day. There is also an armchair and small TV for those that need a bit of peace and quiet. Retire to the two comfortable sofas in the living room, warming your toes in front of the electric fire, drink in hand and pup at your feet as you watch a film. Upstairs, the bedrooms are elegant with pretty, floral soft furnishings, ample storage and lovely views. Both of the super king size bedrooms can be made up as twin rooms on request. The single bedroom is perfect for children with a choice of vintage children's books and a lovely view of the woods. The family bathroom has a shower over the bath. Outside, the gardens offer fantastic views. The large lawn is dotted with mature shrubs and rose bushes, while the stone terrace has a bench and a small dining table which is perfect for a morning cuppa or a sunset glass of wine. Beyond the gated area to the rear there are paths into the woodland from which you can follow the trail up Skiddaw via Dodd Fell without ever having to go on a road.
