The Mountain festival which is held annually, usually in May or June, holds three days of world class sports, lots of outdoor activities, talks, films and live music events which take place beside the lake. It also has clear views onto the Skiddaw range; as well as a cricket pavilion, bowling greens and a fantastic children's playground as well as tennis courts and a putting green.
