Pheasant Cottage is a semi-detached stone barn conversion, one of two, set in the village of Beck Side near Cartmel. The cottage sleeps four people in two bedrooms which are a ground floor super king-size double with an en-suite bathroom and a first floor super king-size double. Both rooms have zip/link beds and can be arranged as twin rooms on request. There is also an open plan living area with a kitchen, dining area and sitting area with a gas stove. Completing the cottage is a bathroom. Outside are shared gardens and off road parking. Highchair available. Pheasant Cottage is a fantastic choice at any time of year. Will accept 2 well-behaved small dog, £10 supplement per booking.

Area
The historic, South Lakeland village of Cartmel is renowned as the prettiest village in the Lake District. The Priory Church, one of the finest ecclesiastical buildings in the north of England, remains the heart of the community with its gatehouse forming the entrance to the village. The village features pretty streamside walks, quaint cobbled streets littered with antique shops, a charming gift shop, welcoming, traditional pubs serving real ale, the nationally acclaimed, Michelin Star awarded L'Enclume restaurant, and the Cartmel Village shop, which sells the famous sticky toffee pudding.

Region
Impressive mountains, open fells and clear-water lakes, the Lake District has it all. From walking in the mountains to exhilarating watersports or just a gentle cruise on a steam-powered yacht, Cumbria is the perfect holiday destination.

Note: There are a number of steep stone steps in the garden, care to be taken and may not be suitable for those with limited mobility.

Pheasant Cottage is a lovely place,a real home from home.. Equipped to a high standard with everything you could possibly need.Set in a stunning location with lovely gardens.Met on arrival by the owners who showed us where everything was and how things worked which was very handy.

Comfortable cottage for family of 4 or 2 couples.. Warm, dated furnishings but good quality and well equipped. Beautiful setting and garden. Would definitely stay again. Owner was friendly and helpful.

Such a delightful Cottage very well equipped and lots of extras not expected when hiring accommodation,comfortable beds lovely bathrooms with underfloor heating in the downstairs en-suite.. our only reason we have not given a full 10 in recommendation is the very uncomfortable settee and chairs ,this did really spoil our stay, the nights being darker earlier and the very narrow roads we spent our evenings in the cottage.such a pity this let the cottage down.

This is our first time with Sykes and the booking through to the payment system and directions to the cottage was a seemless operation.. The cottage is located just out of Cartmell so not only is it within a two minute drive you can if you wish come out of your front door go through a farm gate and walk to the village. We were met on arrival by Pam and like everyone we met within the Lake District she had a big smile and was very helpful. The property is spotless both inside and outside . We would highly recommend a stay at pheasant cottage and this comment is reflected in the guest book. Well done Sykes we enjoyed our weeks holiday.

We enjoyed our few days in an area of the Lakes that we did not know as well.. Cartmel is a very interesting little village we still have more of it to explore. The cottage was a delight which was really good as the weather was not. Extremely comfortable and peaceful just what we needed.
