Lime Cottage is a lovely terraced cottage situated in the village of Backbarrow just one mile from Newby Bridge in the Lake District. The cottage can sleep four people in one ground floor super king-size double bedroom and one king-size double both en-suite together with ground floor cloakroom. Also in the cottage is an open plan living area with kitchen, dining area and sitting area with woodburner. Outside is off road parking for two cars and a private enclosed patio and garden with hot tub, furniture and barbecue. Lime Cottage is a superb cottage to use as a base for exploring the Lake District. Check in and check out days are Fridays and Mondays only.

Two bedrooms with Smart TV: 1 x ground floor super king-size double (zip/link, can be twin on request, with an extra charge) with en-suite walk-in shower, basin and WC, 1 x king-size double with en-suite bath, separate shower, twin basins and WC. Ground floor basin and WC. Open plan kitchen with dining area and sitting area with woodburner. Utility.
Area
The small village of Backbarrow sits by the banks of the River Leven and the southern tip of Lake Windermere. The famous Haverthwaite Steam Railway runs close by the village between Haverthwaite and Lakeside. Enjoy magnificent views across Windermere and the surrounding fells, or visit the Aquarium of the Lakes, where the naturally themed habitats bring the history of the Lakes vividly to life.

Fantastic cottage, very quiet location with wonderful views.. Everything we needed for a relaxing break. The cottage is very well equipped and everything was of the highest standard. Hot tub was a great bonus as we had lovely weather. Good location for both Windermere and Coniston lakes. Would recommend.

The cottage is amazing.. Beautiful surroundings and great facilities. We were lucky with the weather so spent a fair bit of time in the garden and the hot tub which was fabulous. The cottage has everything you could ever need, the beds etc were really comfortable and showers were good. If there was one tiny niggle it would be that it’s difficult to control the temperature with the underfloor heating. Downstairs was boiling while upstairs was much more comfortable. Loved it though. Will definitely go back.

Lime Cottage was a gorgeous place and we thoroughly enjoyed our week there! We stayed there with our 2 children who really enjoyed the hot tub! Everything we needed was there including a welcome basket with bread, eggs, jam and prosecco. There was shampoo and shower gel in both bathrooms as well as a hairdryer, which was really handy. The owners were really nice and welcoming.
We look forward to going back up there and definitely recommend the place!

The cottage gave us real comfort, actually all our needs were met.. Smart Tv's kept our young ones occupied by following there favourite programmes. Location was just fabulous perched on top with great views.

The cottage was exactly as booked with great views and comfortable accommodation.. On arrival Lindsey (site contact) was extremely helpful in allowing us to arrive early and have a late checkout, a nice welcome pack with bread, butter, eggs, jam, milk, tea, coffee, sugar and a bottle of prosecco for the ladies.
Would definitely recommend to anyone that wants a quiet and relaxing break, hot tub a great addition with a lovely patio with furniture.

Myself & three friends stayed at Lime Cottage for my 30th birthday.. We had an absolutely fantastic time. Even though the weather wasn't great we still enjoyed using the hot tub & had a lovely walk. The cottage has been finished to an exceptional standard and feels luxurious to be in. The owners have thought of everything - the free welcome basket & accompanying bottle of prosecco was very thoughtful. I will definitely be back for more visits in the future.

This short break was booked for relaxation and I did not fail to deliver.. The cottage was in immaculate condition and felt extremely cosy and welcoming. The hot tub was the cherry on a cake. Great location for short walks to nearby restaurants and beautiful countryside. We will be definitely be returning to this beautiful place.

Lime Cottage was a beautiful and extremely cosy property with everything that you could wish for to ensure a lovely week away.. I took my partner away for our first holiday together and it made a perfect base to explore the lakes, whilst also being somewhere very relaxing and comfortable to spend our time when the weather was bad. What lovely accommodation, everything was spotless, well equipped & furnished.. The rooms are huge, warm & welcoming after long walks by the sea or in the countryside. Having your own paddock to keep your dog or children safe is a great bonus . The house is charming, & has an atmosphere of calm, which did me a world of good. Loved every moment of our holiday
