Hillberry is a spacious, semi-detached cottage located in Grange-over-Sands in Cumbria. The cottage is set over four floors and can sleep eight people in four bedrooms, including a king-size double, a twin with an en-suite shower room, a single, and a family room. The rest of the cottage comprises of two family bathrooms, a cloakroom and an open plan living area with kitchen, dining area with French doors to a sunny paved veranda with furniture, and a sitting room with Juliet balcony. Outside there is off road parking for three cars. Hillberry is a delightful cottage, set in an ideal location for exploring the Lake District and the Cumbrian coast, and would suit any family. Note: The garden has varying levels and steps so children must be supervised. Note: An additional fee may be payable for use of the EV charger

Area
The charming Edwardian resort of Grange-over-Sands is set between the Lake District fells and Morecambe Bay and offers one of the mildest climates in the north of England. Today, the town has much to offer the visitor including a traffic-free promenade, delightful ornamental gardens, golf courses, brass band concerts and excellent bird watching. Just a short drive away are Lake Windermere (8 miles), the villages of Bowness-on-Windermere and Hawkshead, which still retain the charm and character that has endeared them to so many, and the home of sticky toffee pudding, Cartmel, with its famous racecourse and the L'Enclume restaurant, which has been voted the 4th best restaurant in the UK. Set amidst the southern lakes, this attractive town makes a superb base from which to enjoy the whole of this magical area.

Stayed at Hillberry for a family holiday, the house is amazing. So much space, everything you need and in a perfect location for shops and cafes in Grange. We would definitely recommend it to anybody wanting a large family holiday house.

Lovely semi detached property over 4 floors. Immaculate accommodation in the heart of Grange. Well appointed with everything you could possibly need & spotlessly clean.

Grange is a great place to stay with easy access to The Lakes.. Grange has lovely shops, a pretty park, nice places to walk to or for taking the train. Hillberry was a super house. Perfect facilities for a large family, it was warm, comfortable and well equipped. Hosts were around but only if there was a crisis to face!! Thoroughly recommended.

This is an extraordinarily well equipped, spacious and comfortable property.. Having stayed in many holiday lets over the years, this has to be the best so far! This is the first time we've never had to go out to buy something which was missing (from Jeye cloths to tea strainers). The outside covered terrace was a lovely surprise, and a great place to sit and admire the garden with a glass of wine. We went with another couple on a walking holiday, and found we could get to all our planned walks by the excellent local public transport. Five star accommodation at its best.

Fantastic property.. The pictures and marketing really does not do it justice at all. This is equipped to the highest standard with everything you could possibly need. It’s immaculately clean. We stayed as a family of 8 and it was perfect. We had a young child and there was a spare bed and cot ( in immaculate condition) in the huge master bedroom. It was also lovely to find a separate tv room which was perfect for the children. There are hundreds of dvds but also sky movies. We loved the kitchen space which was perfect for entertaining and it was lovely to all sit comfortably around one table as a family. The owners were amazing and nothing was too much trouble. I sent various emails in the run up to our stay and they were very helpful. They provided lots of local information and it was lovely to be welcomed with fresh cookies and a lovely bottle of wine. Grange-over-Sands isa fantastic location in itself but it’s also a fantastic base to explore other areas of the lakes. I can’t recommend this property highly enough!

Very comfortable house in an excellent location.. Our only grouse: lack of materials for day-to-day washing up and cleaning in the kitchen (pan scrubbers and brush for washing up not done in the dishwasher, dishcloth or similar for wiping surfaces, sufficient tea-towels).

Hillberry is a superb holiday home, exceptionally clean, with all mod cons & extremely comfortable in a quiet but very central location with great views from the upper rooms out over Morecambe Bay.. Proactive owners (who discretely live next door) kindly sent out lots of details prior to arrival. This makes a refreshing change at not having to chase for arrival details our end. The entire family thoroughly enjoyed staying at Hillberry including my parents in their eighties chosen mainly due to being pet-free and in close proximity to the town & promenade.Thanks for a wonderful holiday experience!

Hillberry is an exceptional property with plenty of space for all of our party in a beautiful house.. It is well equipped and close to lovely shops in Grange. It was an excellent base for us to enjoy our holiday. The owners were incredibly helpful and on hand if we needed anything. Trying to find the right house for a large family group isn't always easy...this has been our fourth try but Hillberry has just been perfect for all of us.

Lovely place, we all would highly recommend it.. We took our parents who are in their 70’s with 4 other adults in their 40’s and two children 6 & 9 the layout of the property was perfect. The location could not be better and the views from all the windows were breath taking. Great weekend had by all and we will be back without question.

This house is lovely! Lovely large bedrooms. Multiple bathrooms. Brilliant well equipped kitchen and large dining table. Very spacious and great for kids - black out blinds, 2 x cots, high chair. Lovely covered outside area for sitting (bit of a drop on grass area so children need supervision). Great location near shops in Grange, near to the prom. Grange itself is close for day out in Lakes. Highly recommend it.

A warm welcome waited for us from the owners when we arrived at the property. The property was exceptionally clean and spacious and easily met our requirements, with fluffy towels and good quality bed linen. The covered patio at the rear of the property was ideal for relaxing after a full day out whatever the weather. It was convenient for visiting Lake Windermere and further afield, and close enough without being in the hustle and bustle. The grandchildren had lots of fun playing hide and seek over the 4 floors of the property. Not to be missed is a walk along the promenade to watch the tide rushing in, quite a sight to see. A big thank you to the owners for letting us stay in your amazing house. We would have no hesitation to recommend it to others.

The property was very clean and included everything we could possibly have wished for in terms of furnishings, utilities, kitchen equipment and space. The whole property was well decorated and it was a pleasure to spend time 'at home'. Everything had been thought of and an excellent selection of DVDs and books, as well as board games, made for easy leisure and family activities. We were particularly pleased with the garden and the extensive parking - as we brought 3 cars which fitted easily in the driveway. All the bathrooms came with hand-soap and toilet paper provided, which was very helpful. The biggest plus for the property was its size, which was large enough to hold our 3 families and provided space for privacy, but also accommodated everyone in a cosy living/dining area.

The accommodation offered at Hillberry was very clean and spacious and provided everything you could need for a home away from home. Our party of 6 adults found there was plenty of room to relax and enjoy the surroundings, including pleasant evenings in the garden. All rooms were nicely decorated, clean and comfortable, guides were provided for the local area and plenty of books, games and videos to keep everyone happy. Parking at the house enabled us to easily park our three cars. Overall we had a fantastic time, the weather was sunny and hot every day and we did not want to go home. Thank you to the owners, you have a lovely place there and we would recommend it as a great place to stay if visiting the Lake District and you want a more relaxed environment away from the hustle and bustle of the larger holiday places.

The house is clean and spacious and everything has been thought of by the owners - down to the ice packs in the freezer, kiddy friendly equipment and even a welcome chocolate cake! The location is fantastic as well with Grange being big enough to have quite a few shops but not being too busy like the heart of the Lake District. You don't spend hours in traffic jams here but its about 20 mins drive to some great locations. The best thing about this place is that it doesn't feel like a rental and more like a home to stay in for a week. On top of that, the owners are very welcoming and always about if you need any help. Would recommend and use again.

I have rarely if ever marked something excellent all across the board but this property was. Everything was there in abundance, crockery, cutlery, bedding was 100% cotton and the towels were lovely and fluffy! House was excellent and good for the legs with all the stairs! Bathrooms were good and the shower, I have to admit, was one of the best ever that I have used.
