Hazel is a wonderful cottage situated just outside the town of Bowness-on-Windermere in Cumbria and benefits from six acres of woodland to explore. The cottage can sleep twelve people in five bedrooms: 1 x ground floor super king-size double, 2 x king-size doubles both with en-suite shower, basin and WC, 1 x ground floor twin, 1 x family room with 1 x super King (zip/link, can be twin on request) and 2 x single with en-suite shower, basin and WC. Ground floor bathroom with bath, walk in Shower, basin and WC. Ground floor basin and WC. There is a well equipped kitchen with open plan dining area, an entrance hall, snug room and cosy sitting room with woodburning stove. The main patio doors lead outside to a spacious decked area with a luxurious hot tub. There is allocated off road parking for two cars. Hazel is the perfect cottage to explore Bowness-on-Windermere and surrounding area as it is only a short walk to Lake WIndermere along with Brant Fell and its surrounding fells.

Area
The twin towns of Bowness and Windermere hold enduring appeal for visitors to the Lake District National Park, with each providing a range of nearby attractions, amenities, shops and restaurants to suit all tastes. A variety of boat trips and boat hire are available from Windermere Lake Cruises in Bowness to Brockhole, Ambleside and Lakeside. The World of Beatrix Potter attraction and the Old Laundry theatre are 1.5 miles away. There are also a variety of watersports on offer for the more energetic at marine centres along the lake.

We had an amazing time, as a family of 12 at this cottage. The cottage had everything we needed and more. We all loved the hot tube and the ducks. The owners are lovely people as well.

We really enjoyed our break away, with the girls.. Perfect location and the fixtures and furnishing are to a high standard. Very clean and plenty of facilities. The hot tub was amazing! Will be returning

We’ve stayed before as a group of 10 at rowan and loved it, so this was our second trip, with a newborn baby, to Hazel! Everything about it was great for our group. The only comments I feel I need to make for improvement are, the shower in a bedroom upstairs was blocked and that meant the shower tray filled up. There was no potato peeler (made the roast challenging) and the door frame of the patio door was so gone there was a huge gap around the door that you could see outside. In the Jan/Feb weather that made the mornings in the lounge cold - which wasn’t ideal for the baby. Overall though these are minor feedback things that I just wanted to mention rather than complain about

Not enough toilet roll/bin bags/kitchen roll etc provided.. And nowhere for glass recycling which seemed a waste. Otherwise property was excellent and much bigger than expected. Went here for a weekend with 12 friends and everyone loved it.

Minor maintenance issues already highlighted with site manager Perhaps a few more detailed instructions for cooker/microwave etc would have been useful.. ..otherwise a beautiful holiday home in a lovely setting.

Absolutely fabulous! ! We stayed in 'Hazel' cottage wgere there was more than enough room for our party of ten. Beautiful, modern and homely. There was plenty of crockery/utensils. Very well stocked. We had a great time.

Lovely cottage, clean tidy and generally well equipped.. Excellent bedrooms all with en suite facilities. My only slight criticism is that the cottages are very close together and whilst our small outdoor area was private the neighbours were very very close and their bedroom windows overlooked our hotub and seating area. The staff were very helpful, nothing too much trouble. A special mention to Mike the site manager.

Lovely spacious cottage which is beautifully decorated.. Crockery, cutlery, etc. plentiful for party of 11 which made for economic use of dishwasher. Hot tub excellent and we were very lucky with the weather. Hazel Woodland Cottage met our expectations but we have always been very happy with Sykes Cottages and thus set the standard high.

An absolutely immaculate cottage, just 5 minutes drive from Lake Windermere.. Exceptionally clean and spacious, with an outside seating area and hot tub. Ample parking for our cars. I would definitely recommend to others... 7 of us stayed for a Golden Wedding anniversary and it was just perfect!

We stayed at the cottage for a 40th birthday party and had a great time, the cottage is fully equipped with everything you need. Jo was a very helpful and when we were little too noisy was polite in asking us to quieten down. Place is overall perfect for a weekend relaxing. We did a lovely walk around the fields nearby and it is a 20 min walk into the town. They have refurbished thebpakces excellently and we would consider going back...

Great place for a large group to stay.. Well equipped. Part of a cluster of holiday cottages. The cottage is approx 1 mile from Bowness, for the nearest restaurants and shops. Supermarkets deliver online to Woodland Cottages.
