Eskdale is lovely, quiet valley with lots of opportunities for walking and cycling for all abilities.

Sca Fell and Scafell Pike are a challenging climb and not for the faint hearted, while a stroll along the River Esk is a much gentler route, but no less lovely. Mountain biking trails lead over to Wasdale and Duddon, or if the hill climbs are not your thing, head out towards the coast on some easier routes.
