Sleeping 2 in a king size double bedroom with en-suite bathroom, the Heronry really has the wow factor from the unique Chevrolet breakfast bar to the huge floor to ceiling windows in the bedroom and bathroom that allow you to look out over the spellbinding views from the luxury of a stand alone bath. The lighted seating area overlooking Carwinley Beck is a beautiful way to spend an evening and there's private off road parking outside the Heronry. Just 3 miles from the shops, bars and restaurants of Longtown, and ideally placed for an exploration of the Borders, Solway coast and North Lakes, the Heronry is the perfect location for a romantic getaway whatever the time of year.

All ground floor: 1 x super king size bedroom with en-suite with a stand alone bath, double shower cubicle, hand basins and WC. Open plan living/dining/kitchen area.

A delightful, well-stocked town in northern Cumbria that runs alongside the River Esk. Longtown is a fantastic base for a holiday as it comes in the centre of four Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty, including Solway Coast AONB, the Northumberland National Park, North Pennines AONB and the Lake District National Park.The local area offers a pleasant range of shops, pubs and restaurants for you to choose from.

Impressive mountains, open fells and clear-water lakes, the Lake District has it all. From walking in the mountains to exhilarating watersports or just a gentle cruise on a steam-powered yacht, Cumbria is the perfect holiday destination.

Bed linen, towels, dressing gowns supplied. Welcome pack on arrival. Wifi available.Off road parking. Patio area with seating, further seating area with lighting by the beck. Sorry, no pets and no smoking. Shops, pubs and restaurants at 3 miles. Note: please let owners know if you will be celebrating a special occasion at the Heronry. Please note as the hot tub is emptied, cleaned and re filled between each booking it may not be at the optimum temperature for your arrival.

If you need to get away from the rat race this is the place to go. Large barn conversion with a very high spec, windows instead of walls allowed you to view nature 24/7. Each room was huge and uncluttered. it was so peaceful. Birds in the trees going about their business for you to view at your leisure. Hot tub was a bonus but the place itself made it just the best place for us. Could I comment in a negative way, yes if I wanted to critique it as a home, but it was amazing and we loved it. Thank you a great stay.

Just got back from a 4 night stay, it was an incredible property. The bed was super comfy with incredible views to wake up to. Hot tub was spotless and we were lucky enough to see a heron flying past! Owners were very friendly, but also non intrusive and greeted us with a bottle of prosecco! The whole stay felt very luxurious, perfect for a couples retreat! We can't wait to return again!

Wow! Had such a brilliant stay at the heronry, the family are so welcoming and go above and beyond every expectation. All facilities worked great and we most defiantly got use out of the hot tub. You will be seeing us again!! Thanks a bunch :)

Our stay at The Heronry has been bliss. We can't recommend this cottage enough! We've had such an amazing 5 nights here. We love it and quite honestly... We don't want to go home. The family who run the cottage are genuinely lovely. The proeprly itself is perfect. Clean, spacious, private and the view over the beck, especially in the hot tub is awesome. Can't beat it. Jumping in the hot bath in the morning, looking over the beck is also quite awspiring. At this time of year, we've spotted the heron fly along the beck at approx 8:30am, whilst sat in the hot tub. Up until now we have spent most of our holidays at Kielder Waterside, and The Heronry beats Kielder, by a mile. So we will be booking again, in advance. Without a doubt. The location of the cottage is also very convenient. It's close to Kielder, Lake District and Solway Coast. There's local shops, a couple of miles away, among take aways and cafes, easily accessible by car. However there's a cracking Indians who deliver for free. I could rant on about how amazing our time here has been. Thank you. Its exactly what we've needed. We will be back! P.s. We've left some doggy treats at the door! See you soon! Xx

Wow! We loved our stay here, convenient to get to, lovely owners who made us fell very welcome, nothing was too much trouble for them. Very private hot tub which was located just outside the bedroom door. The views out of the huge windows are just stunning, it makes it feel like you are in the middle of nowhere. Great facilities and very clean throughout. We will be back again some time soon.
