Mousehole Cottage is bursting with character, based near the village of Armathwaite, in Cumbria. It has two bedrooms made up of a double room and a twin, there is also a family shower room and a cloakroom, the property can sleep four people. Also inside you will find an open-plan living area with a kitchen, a dining area and a sitting area. To the outside of the cottage there is off road parking and an enclosed lawn garden with a patio area with furniture. Mousehole Cottage offers dog-friendly accommodation in a wonderful part of Cumbria.

Area
The village of Armathwaite is placed for exploring the Lake District, Eden Valley and the Solway Firth. The village has two pubs with restaurants, a Post Office and a shop. The River Eden runs through the village. The area is known for fishing, walking, canoeing and climbing. Armathwaite Castle is a four-storey Pele Tower, and the 15th century church has stained glass windows. The Eden Gorge, between Lazonby and Armathwaite is worth exploring. The railway station is a stop on the Settle-to-Carlisle Railway, a beautiful journey. The Rheged Discovery Centre in Penrith is the "largest grass covered building in the country" or you might like to visit Dalemain Historic House, featured in a television production of Jane Eyre.

It was a lovely cottage, the situation suited us and the garden was truly dog proofed.. There were places to walk the dogs within the area and a paddock where they could run free safely.

The cottage was delightful and more than met our needs.. We would recommend this to other families in particular, especially if you like cows, dogs and poultry! It is a good location for access to many areas of the Lakes and also to Carlisle and Penrith for shopping etc.
