Clove Cottage is a semi-detached cottage situated on a hillside, four miles from Appleby-in-Westmorland in Cumbria. A wonderful base for a relaxing getaway, this cottage can sleep four people in a double bedroom with an en-suite shower room, a twin room, and a ground floor family bathroom. There is a kitchen with a dining area, a sitting room with an electric fire, and outside, a patio with fabulous views of the surrounding fells towards the North Pennines. There is also off road parking for two cars and with just a 30-minute drive to the Lake District National Park, it is perfect for exploring this stunning region.

Two bedrooms: 1 x king-size double with TV and en-suite shower, basin and WC, 1 x twin. Ground floor bathroom with bath, basin and WC. Sitting room, dining area and electric fire, kitchen and utility room.

Area
The historic town of Appleby, set at the heart of the lush Eden Valley, is one of the loveliest towns in the north of England and was originally the county town of Westmorland. The picturesque street of Boroughgate, with some interesting old buildings, is at the heart of the town and links the well-preserved Norman Castle with the fine medieval Church of St. Lawrence.

Region
Impressive mountains, open fells and clear-water lakes, the Lake District has it all. From walking in the mountains to exhilarating watersports or just a gentle cruise on a steam-powered yacht, Cumbria is the perfect holiday destination.

Sorry, no smoking. Shop and pub 3.5 miles.

Clove cottage is a beautiful property set in a stunning location.. It is tastefully decorated and the owners have thought about the needs of holiday makers, down to books, DVDs and even a nespresso coffee machine. There was a lovely welcome pack on our arrival. We had a fantastic holiday. The reason I haven't given it full marks for comfort is that there was quite a strong smell of oil from the oil fired central heating. There needs to be ventilation in the utility room. It affects the back part of the cottage and upstairs.

Beautiful and peaceful surroundings with easy access to the lakes.. The cottage is fully equipped with everything you may need on your holiday and was immaculately presented. A lovely welcome pack was left for our arrival. A perfect 'dog friendly' cottage with wooden floors downstairs so easy to clean up from any muddy paws! Would highly recommend Clove Cottage and would definitely go back for a second visit.

Location was idyllic.. Everything was to a high standard very spacious and views for miles all around, so peaceful... from furniture to kitchen utensils, and bottle of wine and biscuits and coffee etc on arrival.

Lovely well maintained, well stocked cottage.. Beautiful location. Peaceful, tranquil rural setting. 3-4 other holiday appartments in a courtyard /car parking area. Good communications regarding how to access and find cottage. Bottle of wine and various other food gifts to be found on arrival. Lovely touch. Outside patio available but unfortunately no view or sun in the evening...however this was known prior to renting cottage. This is the only disadvantage in renting this cottage otherwise it is fabulous and comfortable. When we had to put heating on there was a distinct smell of deisal. According to visitors book this was highlighted a while back...but due to weather maybe the heating was not required. Great comfortable holiday cottage for changeable weather.

Cottage is very well furnished and equipped.. A home from home with all the amenities you could need just 10 minutes away in Appleby. Plenty of places to visit within a reasonable driving distance.

Clove Cottage was a beautiful, very clean and well looked after cottage.. It had everything that we needed - the only thing we felt that could have made it better is if there had been a garden (although there is a little outdoor seating area) and a BBQ available to enjoy the amazing scenery. It’s such a peaceful location and not far at all from the Lake District National Park and the little town of Appleby. The owner left us a bottle of wine, some sticky toffee pudding and all the condiments that we needed. A cot and high chair were left with no issues and these even seemed brand new. A lovely stay and would definitely recommend to anyone and hopefully we will stay again.

A cottage that exceeded our expectations in all ways.. Very clean, very comfortable in all ways, and incredibly well stocked with kitchen utensils, plates and pots and pans. You need to accept the fact that there are no shops, pubs or restaurants within walking distance and that the cottage is a short drive from The Lakes but we knew this and more than happy with all of this. I suspect we will be back next year.
