Located in the heart of the Lake District, Hatter s Cottage provides an excellent base for walking and cycling on a network of footpaths and quiet lanes. A short stroll takes you to the National Trust beauty spot Tarn Hows and Grizedale Forest (0.5 miles). For hillwalkers the Coniston mountains with their fascinating copper mining history and Coniston Water are within 3 miles. For the less adventurous there are boat trips on Lake Windermere (5 miles) with views of the Langdale Pikes popular with rock climbers.
