Area
Nestling in these upland valleys are the lead-mining villages of Nenthead and Garrigill. Standing on the River South Tyne, not far from its source, and near Cross Fell is this small village. The centre of the village is the green, a post office and village store, St John’s church and the village hall are nearby. At Ashgillside and Beldy there are waterfalls namely Ashgill Force and Thortergill Force.

Impressive mountains, open fells and clear-water lakes, the Lake District has it all. From walking in the mountains to exhilarating watersports or just a gentle cruise on a steam-powered yacht, Cumbria is the perfect holiday destination.

The cottage was perfect in every way and a true credit to the owners.. We could not fault it in any way, it was spotless and clean and every thing you needed was provided.

Beautiful cottage with excellent views, really quiet, really clean and comfortable.. Welcome pack is a lovely touch, eggs are lovely. Have now booked again. Instructions to get there is misleading but the locals are really friendly to ask.

The cottage was in a lovely position overlooking the village of Garrigill and the surrounding hills.. It was so clean with everything in it that is needed. I would fully recommend this cottage.

A beautiful cottage - clean, cosy and well equipped with fabulous views of the countryside.. Owners are very friendly and helpful. We arrived in dreadful weather conditions to treats not only for us but for the dogs too which were much appreciated! Garrigal is a small village just right if you are looking forward to peace and quiet. Would highly recommend this cottage and look forward to a return visit in the future.

Had a lovely week at brye cottage .. very nice and friendly owners. soon had the wifi sorted. My dog Bailey loved the walks. You get a very good welcome at the George and Dragon pub .thank you will be back.

The accomodation was superb but just two points I would mention.. The online information did not indicate that the owners house was so close alongside, they were very nice however and to say that there is Wi-Fi is a little misleading as it was more off than on.
