Ask yourself this question !, why not so many reviews about this place! This is advertised as a cottage, when it's a barn conversion ( poorly constructed) . On arrival at the property the owner of the 4 properties will call across to see you , and try to befriend you( is this to make you feel as though you should not review his place, you decide) firstly we noticed cobwebs in every room, under the kitchen table, behind the sofa, behind the bookcase, ground floor w.c , stairs areas, every room had cobwebs and spiders, the rear bedroom window did not close due to broken hinges( this should be picked up as a maintenance issue/ fault) the spider issue was pointed out to the owner, who sort of brushed it off as it's common as living in the country, when clearly it because of the poor conversion of this barn, there was gaps everywhere, around pipe, between walls, oak beams had gaps that you could slide a pencil into. This is poorly constructed and if I was the owner I would certainly be embarrassed, staying here did spoil our family holiday, as we did check out after 4 nights, we then booked into a clean hotel, what should of been a good holiday turned out to be a nightmare due to this cottage/ barn, ( empty barn adjoining this place has gaps leading and allowing mice, rats , spiders to enter this property, the front door has a 10-15 mm gap at the bottom. I have lodged a complaint with the booking agent, they where advised that the owner has installed an electronic device deterrent to prevent insects( surely this is admitting to a problem) . But after spending over £1,200 plus on just 4 nights, then having to book into a clean hotel, the owner of wheal honey has not offered any partial refund, this shows how selfish and inconsiderate this owner is, it also makes me realize that the rumours are true about Cornwall holiday property owners: that they just want your money! I will rate this 1star just for the location off the dirt track down the winding lane, where the car gets scratches from the bushes...please BE AWARE.
