This was a last minute (no, really!) booking. Having been let down by where we were meant to stay for a week, we were really lucky to find somewhere so close and so comfortable. The Station flat is well equipped, tastefully furnished and decorated in a light, modern style. It's isolated, rural location could be described as idyllic (with pond, cute wildlife, shady trees, grassy areas). However, the narrow, winding 3 mile journey from the main road can seem a lot further in the dark and the lack of street lights - or any lights to guide you from the car park to the building in fact - is a little spooky until you get in range of the floodlights' sensors. Once inside, though, it's cosy, with plenty of lights! If you look outside after dark, that is all you see! Darkness and nothing else - weird!
The flat is within the grounds of The Lappa Valley Railway, to which you have complimentary use of all the (mostly child orientated) facilities. So, great if you have little ones. The park closes at 4:15, so you aren't disturbed by noise or people after that.
If it was our property, we'd have a more secure lock on the front door, especially with the isolated location, and lack of street lights. I'm also glad I took my coffee maker. The other (only slightly) minus points are no milk jug, lack of serving dishes, a few small cobwebs and a bit of mould in the shower. The cold water pipes get noisy in the morning too, but that was quite quirky.
We were very satisfied, even with the mix up over when we had to be out, and the lack of phone signal.
