Area
To the north west of St Austell Bay lies the quiet village of St Dennis, nestling amongst the “Cornish Alps”, named after the conical piles which dominate the landscape. This was once a busy china clay mining area, but is now renowned for The Eden Project, itself built in an exhausted china clay quarry. St Dennis village has a good selection of shops including a chemist and a butcher, and is a perfect base for exploring Cornwall, being mid-way between the north and south coasts, and also with easy access to main roads. Nearby is the Goss Moor trail which offers seven miles of fabulous walking routes. From the rugged coastline between Perranporth and Newquay in the north, to the softer sandy coves around St Austell in the south, there really is something for everyone within easy reach of St Dennis.

Region
Cornwall’s visitors are constantly tempted back to the beautiful coastline, tiny fishing villages, hidden coves and the world-class surfing. Whatever the reason, Cornwall has long cemented its place as one of Britain’s premier holiday destinations.
