Mrs Mason
August 2018
We did have an enjoyable week in spite of a very disappointing first impression, but it took some determination and positive thinking.. There were roadworks 100 metres awsy, a bit of a sell( turned out from the oil central heating,) , and the beds were very very hard. One of the single beds was slightly softer than the double so I used that. Keeping windows open and the door to the boiler room shut dealt with the smell, but allowed in the noise!
So the workmen turned up at 7.30 am Monday to Friday, starting the diggers or other machinery just before 8am. The roadside front sitting area was the only outside space, but imposible to use in the day. It was nice at the weekend and after 5pm, so we just had to get out during the day. We did like some attractions nearby, especially Trebah Gardens and Helford Pasdage and luckily the weather was ok. The roadworks are due to finish by the end of September, so that will probably be ok but I think it was wrong not to warn us or give a discount.
