June 2016
Eight of us, including a one year old toddler, stayed here for a week in June. The house is peaceful with just the roar of the sea to break the quiet. As others have said it is well located for both the village and beach, however, be prepared for a very steep walk up the sand dunes on your return! This was quite tough with a couple of surf boards and toddler! There is a surfboard hire man on the beach with wet suits at £11 for 3 days and I think the surfboards were around £25. The lifeguards are extremely good, giving constant information on where to surf, swim, etc.
While it specifies on the website that there is enough room on the drive for 3 cars, we easily parked 4 large cars and it was a bonus that we were able to check in well before 4 o'clock.
The house itself is well laid out and extremely well equipped. I would say due to the hard floors, however, it can be a little noisy if people don't close doors quietly etc. The towels were fluffy and large, the pantry/larder was useful, bedding was comfy, showers were extremely efficient, there were games and jigsaws for wet days. There is a charcoal BBQ and table and chairs to use outside on sunnier days!
There is a good drying room which seemed more efficient than the tumbledryer. Mobile phone signal wasn't brilliant and the internet was weak at times, which is possibly a good thing for relaxation!
The track from the road down to the house is a bit rickety but level.
All in all, a lovely well thought out cared for holiday home.
