We were very pleased with the bungalow, it was comfortable and clean. It is in a good location in the area we wanted to visit and the supermarket and shops were a short drive away.

This was nice, clean and well equipped bungalow with everything you could need. There was safe off road parking and an enclosed garden for the dog.

had a lovely holiday. nice comfortable warm cottage. has everything you need, home from home. Owners are always available and so nice. The shop and cafe next door are a bonus- pop in anytime. Mobil phone signal is poor, but there is a land line available in the cottage.. just pop in your coins. Looking to go back again asap, Shops and pubs close by. A visit to Lanchester and dinner at the '' Kings Head '' is a '' must do ''

We have booked quite a few cottages and regularly, the info says "Walks from the door"! On arrival, this means dogs on leads. HERE, there were lovely walks in just about every direction. Some hidden from non locals, but almost all locals are chatty and will point you in direction.

We wanted a weekend away with our dogs and looked online at Sykes and found this gem, from the minute we got there the people who we collected the key from the cafe next door they showed us round and were fantastic.. Once in the property we noticed that nothing had been forgoten from treats food etc for the dogs to tea coffee cake and biscuits for us and even some milk in the fridge we have never been to a place where this has been provided. We would recommend the cottage to who wants a fantastic base to explore from, we will be coming back before to long thanks to everyone.

We been to this cottage several times before and have booked for further future visits, so we are well satisfied all round for the cottage and area/coast..

We stayed at Allensford Cottage , I would highly recommend it.. We had such a warm welcome from the owners and the cafe next door. The cottage was clean, comfortable and well equipped. The garden was a delight especially watching all the birds who visit every morning and ideal for our border collie. It backs on to a busy caravan site but this was so quiet we wouldn't have realised it was there ! There are plenty of lovely walks nearby and the parkland beyond is absolutely great to run your dogs. This was one of our very favourite cottages, we have been staying in dog friendly cottages for 20 years and are already hoping to book this for next year even though we have to travel from Devon it is well worth it.

Allendale Cottage is a real home from home cottage ,cosy, with super comfy beds and sofas .. Situated with views of the lush green picnic park . French doors from the lounge open onto a patio area with a totally enclosed flat lawned area , great for dogs . Riverside walks from the doorstep. Lovely café next door serving delicious food. Great area to explore and a wonderful cottage /location to come back too . Will definitely return....

A very very nice cottage on edge of a caravan park and public open spaces.. Well equipped, clean and well heated (there was a lot of snow on the ground outside). Very secure for dogs - we had three golden retrievers and they loved the garden. Staff on site were friendly and helpful.

Cottage very comfortable & owners had put heating on before we arrived.. It was a very cold weekend with heavy snow. Excellent cafe on site which was most welcome as snow too heavy to take car out for 2 days. Scumptious roast dinner on Sunday and fish and chips following day, both meals brought to the cottage by friendly staff so we did not need to venture outside. Lovely dog walks from site; large green park by river or walks through woods. Web page for cottage needs slight update as shower installed and bath removed

The bungalow is in a delightful setting which is complete doggy heaven, cozy & clean for our arrival.. The online pictures don’t really do it justice with regard to its spaciousness & comfort. Although situated on a very friendly holiday park which gives security & cafe facilities on your doorstep, once settled in you have total privacy, peacefulness & are unaware of the holiday homes behind the property. We had a lovely week relaxing & walking in the beautiful area. The friendly owners are around should you need them & the lovely cafe on hand couldn’t be more convenient for delicious home-cooked food to eat in or take away. We were left entirely to do as we pleased. Perfect.

Cottage was excellent but the welcome we received from the people around was heartwarming.. Thank you.

We had a very relaxing enjoyable week stay at the cottage.. We were met with a warm welcome and showed around the cottage. Everything you would need is supplied, a real home from home. The staff at the café next door are extremely friendly and helpful, serving good food at very reasonable prices. The garden is a good size and secure for the dogs. (Please pickup your dogs mess from the garden to keep it clean for the next occupants.) The location is excellent, only a short drive into Consett, which has all the shops you would need, but when you are at the cottage it's like being way out in the countryside away from it all, very nice. I would recommend, and definitely return to Allensford cottage again.

Great cosy accommodation and dog-friendly.. A lovely little bungalow which is bigger than the photos make it look. Controllable heaters meant we could keep cosy in cold November. Was great to let the dogs out into the enclosed garden, with dog walks on the doorstep. Staff were very pleasant and friendly, and kindly brought food round from the cafe next door on one occasion, due to my disability. Wouldn't hesitate to book again, so thanks for offering a lovely bungalow in a quiet location!

The only thing i can find fault with was that we were expecting a bath, but a walk in shower has been installed so your records need to be updated, other than that everything was spot on..
