We loved this property the location is brilliant and the view from the top floor is amazing. We found it to be very clean and comfortable with all homely amenities, WiFi was also a big hit with the children. We took our small dog with us & although there is no garden (we were aware) the local walks were beautiful we didn’t use the car all week, everywhere is dog friendly including the train, ferry, boat ride and Agatha Christie’s house (not inside the house itself) to name just a few. There are a variety of independent restaurants, coffee shops & eateries as well as an excellent community of shops close by. We would recommend a stay here & have already looked to stay again, unfortunately but understandably it’s fully booked on our available dates.

The house is in a fabulous location very close to the centre and from the top floor you have fabulous views across the river. Unfortunately the bathroom and plumbing are in very poor condition. When you run a tap the second floor of the house vibrates and a loud fog horn noise comes from the plumbing. We had the plumber out 3 times and it was not fixed. We booked via Sykes cottages who claim that they weren't aware of the problem - which can not be true. Also if you look back through the reviews and it was clear others had complained too. The shower is held on by duct tape and again looking back through the reviews it has been like this for over 12 months. The shower grouting and ceiling are cracked. The tiled floor in the bathroom is very badly cracked - so much that I had to put a towel over it to make sure we didn't cut our feet. The grouting in the kitchen is cracked and black, The taps came off in your hand as you turned them. There is no handrail on the very steep steps going down to the kitchen. The house rents out for a very full price and yet the state doesn't reflect that and none of the issues which have clearly existed for a long time have been resolved. There are a lot places which are the same price (or less) which are in much better condition.

Lovely cottage in a great location.. Would be good to have a kettle on the top floor where the master bedroom is situated. Toilet brush in both bathrooms needed attention

The shower on the top floor works well for the first 10-20 seconds and then the power falls off to become feeble! The glass shelf above the basin on the top floor protrudes so far that it is not possible to get your head over the basin, thus washing ones face or cleaning teeth etc is virtually impossible.

The holiday cottage was ideally located and very comfortable.. The views from the top floor were lovely. The only drawback was no WiFi or phone signal in some areas of the house but that helped with a digital detox!! Sykes were very good to inform that we could stay an extra night for little extra cost. We enjoyed the break very much.
