Although our two-bed appartment was clean and comfortable, the building (formerly an hotel) was old and neglected.. The slate tiles on the roof and the gutters and down-pipes were in need of attention. Just an observation that the owners of the properties need to be aware of. Great location, lots of loch-side and mountain walks, and stunning views over to Ben Lomond from the top of Aberfoyle golf course. Well worth the effort to get there!

The apartment was lovely - no issues.. Met the owner who was very nice. Had everything I needed. The only issue I had was with Sykes. Booking was made on Booking.com, who then made the booking with Sykes. Just a few hours after making the booking I asked if I could cancel the booking. Even when I explained why (on Booking.com) I was simply told no, because the contract said no refunds. If the request had been passed on by Sykes to the owner, the request for refund would have been honoured. It was a bank holiday weekend, so no problem with getting another booking.

Hi, the apartment in Aberfoyle was exactly what I required.. .It was a walking holiday, the place is ideally situated, it is not the Ritz, but I didn't want the Ritz on this sort of holiday, it was exactly what it said on the can....I repeat not the Ritz but not the Pits...I would use it again.

The cottage was a home from home and I loved every minute I was there .. It was ideally located for the walking and places I wanted to visit. The village itself had the facilities I needed and walks straight off my doorstep . I would recommend this apartment to anyone .The owner had left milk and some biscuits to welcome us and is being extremely helpful in organising the return off an item I left there .

Aberfoyle was an ideal location from which to explore the Trossachs.. The apartment was spotless and had all the facilities that could be wished for with excellent instructions for their use. The owner was very welcoming and extremely helpful with her recommendations on places to go. The week was somewhat marred by the 'Beast from the East' but the apartment was ideal for making the best of it, with the owner very flexible on departure arrangements affected by the extreme weather conditions.

We rented for two people and had more than enough space in this cozy apartment conveniently located close to the Co-op (supermarket), gift shops (several), butchers (2), and restaurants (many). The Co-op has everything, from sandwiches to meat and veg. We stopped at Liz MacGregor's restaurant and coffee shop and we enjoyed a breakfast and a soup, which were very good and recommended. One night we had dinner at The Faerie Tree - also within walking distance - and splurged on their 'black rock' menu items. £50 for two, but lots of fun to cook top quality steak, gammon, and prawns on a volcanic rock! The sides were cooked and presented marvelously! The other dinners were bought from the Co-op and both butcher shops. The Aberfoyle Butcher on the edge of town is the more traditional and we got fantastic steaks and a variety of tasty sausages, including one with haggis. The other one is the Aberfoyle Delicatessen and Trossachs Butcher, and as the name suggests, has more items, including the best steak pies ever. The owner, Flo, left us milk, shortbread, a soft drink, and other tea/coffee items, which were appreciated. The apartment is spotlessly clean, with everything we needed, and the appliances worked perfectly. In the apartment, the bedrooms are spacious with lots of storage - wardrobes and drawers. There is a second TV in the master bedroom. The view from the second bedroom looks down on the main street, a stone bridge and the river. There is not much traffic, but the windows are double glazed anyway. Decor has plenty of tartan, which is lovely. The kitchen and bathroom are perfect for the size of property and everything worked perfectly. There are heaters everywhere to use if the temperature drops below normal, which it did on a couple of days, but the apartment was lovely and warm. It is very convenient to the Go Ape attraction at the David Marshall Lodge, Queen Elizabeth Forest Park. We went there for the wildlife hide and got great photos of red squirrels and birds, such as robins and a tree creeper. Beyond that, there are lovely lochs to explore with tons of photographic opportunities, whatever the weather. All in all, great accommodation in a picturesque area of Scotland.

The village of Aberfoyle has a good, central positioning for seeing this part of Scotland, making trips and walking. Very beautiful surroundings. The Apartment is cosy and very well equipped. Even for four (three of them tall) people, there was enough space. The owner is a very, very nice lady who cares for her guests.

I a very well equipped cottage in a good location for both local amenities and for travel. We used aberfoyle as a base to explore large parts of Scotland and for some rambling. It was perfect for our needs. Only note of caution is that access is via 2 flights of stairs so anyone not able for this best to avoid.

We were given a warm welcome by the owner, who had just cleaned the apartment to a high standard. The apartment is very conveniently located near the main street in Aberfoyle. It was possible to do some lovely walks right from the door, and some superb hill walks were only a short drive away. There is lots of storage space, so we were able to put all our things away and keep it tidy. The owner had provided an impressive amount of literature and tourist information, and we made good use of it.

The apartment had everything we needed during our energetic week of walking, cycling and exploring the Trossachs: reclining armchairs for putting our feet up at the end of the day were the icing on the cake. The Co-op was open very day till 11 so catering was easy, and the apartment was well equipped for cooking. We also had two delicious dinners at the Forth Inn, just across the road. I did bump my head on the sloping ceiling a couple of times, but the owner's description was very clear and we knew to expect it. Lots of helpful information on walks and tourist attractions in the area, as well as reference books in Scottish history, flora and birds, were provided too. We were sorry to leave.

The location of this apartment is fantastic. You have everything you need, co-op, 2 pubs, garden centre, cafe, chip shop. 1 hr drive to Edinburgh. Wonderful walks and wonderful drives. The accommodation is very clean and plenty of room for 4 adults. The owners kindly left us a few items in the fridge and kitchen cupboards. Plenty of dvds and books to use. Aberfoyle Apt was very comfortable, with attractive furnishings and terrific views. The owner was helpful and friendly. We were able to go on some wonderful hikes in the nearby Queen forest and other local trails, making the Apt a great location for local activities. Also it was a quiet apt so even with jet lag, we were able to get good rest. Had a wonderful stay there, and the excellence of Aberfoyle Apt greatly enhanced our enjoyment.

I loved the location right in the centre of the Trossachs, with all the trails and the lochs, the beauty is majestic and simply stunning. The chance to have this at the doorstep made our holiday magical! The apartment was lovely, with an obvious delicate and thoughtful touch that made it warm, welcoming and practical at the same time. There is everything you need and more; in particular there was a good number of well chosen informative, useful books about the region and its history. We really had a sweet time, thank you!
