The cottage is nice and is in a lovely position, but the kitchen needs updating and the hot water isn't consistent.. The front bedroom windows constantly run with water and the curtains are quite old.

The lovely cottage is in an ideal location overlooking the bay and mountains.. Borth-y-Gest is a friendly and relaxing village with lots of places to visit nearby and a great get away. It has two cafes and a bistro serving great food and friendly service. Being golfers we had several golf courses to choose from within a distance of half an hour in the car. Our favourite being Porthmadog GC a mile away. We felt very relaxed after our stay at the cottage.

The rubbish collection is an on going issue that needs to be worked out as there was at least two weeks worth of refuse to dispose of before our own .. Even the neighbours seemed to find it confusing

My only criticism is the TV.. It's very small. there are very few channels (though that may be down to local reception), the aerial cable needed frequent attention when reception broke up, and the handset didn't work well. On the plus side, it was a good base for discovering the area and the bed was very comfortable.

If anything I think the listing undersold the cottage.. We had a great time, the cottage was lovely and brilliantly placed. I was a little concerned about the on street parking but it didn't present an issue and the car park across the road is free from 16:30-10:00 (overnight). We had a lovely week exploring.

We go for the fabulous view from the front of the cottage.. The back of the cottage is hardly used. The kitchen could do with a makeover and the drains do smell. It is always clean and the bed is comfortable. A bit of sealant at the back of the basin in the bathroom would be good.

The cottage felt very welcoming.. It comes very well equipped. Should mention that this property has 2 toilets, very welcome for some people. The views from the bedroom are great if you can't get about and are a people watcher. We've already booked for next year.

The location was great, relaxing the village had its own rythum which was a delight and allowed us to relax in to the holiday mood.. The cottage was clean and well appointed. You could enjoy the local area watching the ebb and flow of the tide to shops, boats, beaches, trains, all within walking distance. easy to access the mountains and the coast to the west.

This is the second time we have stayed at this lovely property which has been much improved by the new shower and bathroom. The views from the cottage are beautiful, and if you have nothing else to do, it is nice just to gaze out of the front windows, as there is always something to see, be it the mountains or a steam engine puffing away in the distance. The cottage is ideally placed as a base for exploring the surrounding area including Porthmadog, Criccieth and Black Rock Sands. Would defininitely stay for a third time.
