Wow we have just returned from an amazing week in this lovely cottage celebrating my 40th birthday.. The cottage has everything from games, books, lots of information on area, loads of family DVDS, very well equiped kitchen and very comfy beds. Rosmary was so helpful with quick response to any questions and also provided a nice welcome pack. The weather wasn't on our side but we still had a fab time exploring the Island we visited Coral Beach during storm Gareth 75mph winds, snow and hail, Kilt Rock , Old Man Of Storr, night time Aroura searches and The Fairy Pools. We also enjoyed being so cosy and comfortable in the cottage just relaxing during the worst of the weather. The local shop Rankins has an amazing choice for during your stay there is 2 Co-Ops in Portree aswell. We only ate out once I love Chinese food so we tried The Fat Panda in Portree which was amazing in taste and portion sizes, we took a cool box and when back at cottage after 25min drive the food was still very warm. We will definitely return to this amazing cottage using Skyes Cottages .

This cottage is a home from home and is practically perfect in every way.. The location is peaceful, rural bliss not far from the sea. Uig is handily down the hill for the ferries if you want to visit the island of Lewis. There is an amazing hotel a short drive from the property with a good menu if you want to eat out. But if you want to eat in the kitchen is equipped with everything you can think of. The open plan living space is well laid out making spending time with your folks a breeze. The cottage is cosy and comfortable. We loved it here. The wifi is a good speed and very reliable. Highly recommend this cottage to anyone.

We arrived late at night and thankfully because of the storage heaters the house was warm.. Very comfortable cottage. Beds are comfy. Large bath was great. Open fire was wonderful to use every night. We enjoyed playing the monopoly boardgame that was at the cottage sat in front of the fire. Both children slept well. Loved the open plan so i could cook and see them. I thought the downstairs looked smaller in the photos so was a pleasant surprise. I cooked a lovely meal for 10 people (had family staying nearby) in the kitchen & i had everything i needed. Wifi was great. No issues. Beautiful location and very quiet. My children loved seeing the sheep every morning. Would definately reccomend this cottage and sykes to book it with.

Everything about the cottage was amazing.. The view, the rooms, the location (if you prefer a nice quiet retreat), the facilities... We really had an amazing time here and it made our holiday even better. When I visit Skye again I'm pretty sure this will be the first place to look for accommodation.

Didn’t expect much but blew us away when we arrived.. Perfect location, everything you need to enjoy a holiday. Will definitely be booking again.

Disappointed we couldn’t use the wood burning fireplace as logs were too large for fireplace, no kindling or fire starters.. Nice having heated BR tiles - however the grouting is wearing away in places leaving the floor too hot on one’s feet. Bedrooms all upstairs (ok) but with VERY creaky floors (and Bathroom down) sleep was interrupted d/t the noise.

What a fantastic base from which to explore the Eastern side of the Isle of Skye.. Once on the island, we realised there is a lot more to see than can be done in a week, or even 2 weeks. The cottage was warm and cosy, perfectly sheltered from the stormy nights and a really lovely location to help with relaxing. From the cottage you can head straight out for walks in multiple directions, while Portree is just a 15 minute drive away. Cannot recommend this cottage highly enough, thank you!!

The cottage was in a perfect position for exploring Skye and, for even, checking out the Western Isles with the ferry from Uig. Enjoyed our stay and the weather was very kind to us.
