4 Mowhay Cottages is a charming terraced cottage just outside the village of Gorran Haven. The cottage sleeps five people in three bedrooms which are a double, an adult bunk and a single room all set on the first floor. There is also a bathroom, a kitchen with a dining area and a sitting room with an open fire. Outside there is off road parking for one car and an enclosed lawned garden. 4 Mowhay Cottages has three beaches within walking distance and is a great location for a holiday all year round.

Three bedrooms: 1 x double, 1 x twin zip link bed which can be made into a double, 1 x single. Bathroom with modern shower, basin and WC. Kitchen with dining area. Sitting room with open fire.

Area
Once a crab fishing village, Gorran Haven on the south coast of Cornwall is ideally placed to explore the many beaches and coves in the area. Gorran Haven has a small sandy beach, connecting with the longer Great Perhaver beach at low tide. Much of the coastline in this area is owned by the National Trust, including the 370 feet high Dodman Point, rising above Gorran, which is thought to be one of Cornwall’s most dramatic headlands, and the cause of many a shipwreck.

This is a very spacious cottage and the photos do not do the place justice.. As a family group of three generations we appreciated the toys, games and children's books. There was an excellent collection of books on local places of interest and wildlife. We used the maps to find the three local beaches and round the headland. Here we saw wild Dartmoor ponies grazing . The beaches are beautiful, clean and very family friendly. We enjoyed days out at The Lost Gardens of Heligan, The Eden Project and various National Trust properties. We had such a great time the whole family want to go again.

The cottage is beautifully decorated and very comfortable.. It's located in a quiet countryside and is 15 min walk from Gorran Haven were there is a great fish and chips shop and where a lovely coastal path starts. Everything in the cottage is of good quality (matresses, bedding, towels, kitchen utensils, etc) and it feels like a family home. To get to the cottage you'll need to drive on a single track road for a while but it adds to the Cornish country experience. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend the cottage to others.

Electric Aga and night storage heaters made it rather too cosy for a late September heatwave but better than being cold.. Well furnished with nice touches made it perfect for our break with the dog. Honey (the dog!) loved the nearby beaches.
