Wonderful location.. Would definitely like to return.
Mrs Wyatt, August 2020
Thank you for yet another lovely stay in Dale end - thank you for listing to our feedback last year.. The new bunk beds are great! We will be back next year I am sure.
Mrs Wilson, March 2020
Dale end is an excellent base to explore North Norfolk we have a good week despite various storms we wer3 there for the birdwatching.. Visited the the Jolly Sailors pub several time food excellent go on a Monday and you have entertainment from Nelson’s Shanty men singing
The house is ok it furniture is a bit dated glad to see they have got a new sofa much better
Miss Johnson, February 2020
This is a spacious house in a great location.. It is rather tired inside and the sofa is very uncomfortable and grubby. The nearest shop is just a minutes walk away and the property has 2 fridges to easily store all your food. It was slightly off putting to see food left in the cupboards and the property would benefit from a deep clean. The property is also difficult to find in the dark as there are no street lights, it is sunk down behind a thick hedge and the pin drop on Google maps is in the wrong location. One experience we were treated to was hearing flocks of geese fly overhead each morning and seeing beautiful sunrises.
Mrs Koutsou, October 2019
We use Sykes for booking a lot and have only been disappointed twice.. This was one of those occasions. House in a lovely situation and with great potential, generally well equipped and with lots of cooking equipment and useful general larder items but was in need of a thorough maintenance/updating check. Our first thoughts were that it was quite grubby and needed a thorough clean as did some of the cutlery etc. The paintwork was quite chipped in places and the main sofa was well past its use by date and we could only sit on it comfortably if we stuffed the small cushions under the sofa seat cushions. visit Norfolk a lot and were hoping this could be a place to stay on a regular basis but unfortunately we will look elsewhere for future trips.
Miss Roberts, September 2019
Great house, very clean and well equipped, local shops and pubs within walking distance, one pub the Jolly Sailor fantastic for families with a great kids menue and play area, quick and pleasent service.. We ate there frequently our grandchildren loved it. All the local beaches beautiful, a car is essential to avail of the beaches and to travel further afield to visit stately homes etc. Would highly recommend a holiday in this area.
Mrs Roy, August 2019
The totally enclosed garden is a great advantage for dog owners.. However, beyond this, the facilities, space, comfort and all facilities of the house constitute an absolutely ideal holiday location .
Mr Darlington, June 2019
Dale End provided a lovely base in which to explore the North Norfolk Coast.. The kitchen was well equipped and cleaning tools were available. The downside is it rained for 2 days solid (then continued with downpours for the rest of the week) and reversing our car down the drive was impossible as the vegetation had grown so much.
Unfortunately we couldn't mop up our muddy feet as we couldn't find the mop! We found it just as we were leaving!
Mrs Leonard, June 2019
Wonderful location, very well equipped
Mrs Foster-edwards, June 2019
Excellent as always this is the third time we have stayed here.. We want to come back however the children are getting bigger and the bunk beds are very very rickety - will they be replaced as this will determine if we come back. Thanks
Mrs Wilson, June 2019
I don't understand how you can call a dormer bungalow on an estate a "cottage".. The house was well equipped but everything in the oven needed cleaning before use.
My main gripe is the master en-suite bedroom where there is only a measured 12 inch gap either side of the bed meaning one has to slide sideways against the wall and the bed to get in and when you sit on the mattress it's like sitting on cotton wool.I can sleep on most surfaces but this was very uncomfortable. It's a bedroom for a single bed not a double.
As noted by another reviewer the sofa in the lounge is impossible to sit on as you sink right to the floor and should be changed.
I think there should be some system of inspection so that these things don't occur.
Mr Willis, May 2019
Well equipped cottage, furniture a bit dated and scruffy but functional.. Excellent location and a lovely pub nearby The Jolly Sailor with good food. Would stay in this area again.
Mrs Butcher, May 2019
Only downfall was internet connection
Miss Ede, April 2019
The overall description of the property and the location were not accurate..
Very comfortable, quiet, warm, well stocked house, with enclosed lawned garden and parking.. Ideal house and location for families and dog owners. The house is located on the coast at Brancaster Staithe, lovely coastal walks with far reaching views. Jolly Sailors pub was our favourite for meals and real ale, in walking distance of the house. The Fish Shed for outstanding smoked salmon, fresh mussels and local produce in walking distance. Convenience store and attractive independent shops around the corner from the house. Short journey to the seaside town of Wells Next the Sea, would highly recommend Plattens for fish and chips and Wells Deli for bistro meals.
Mr Goodall, April 2019
Very clean, spacious accommodation in a very quiet neighbourhood.. The perfect location for us to visit our favourite places and explore new treasures.
Quite area.. Well equiped spaceous property
Great location on the North coast, near to good pubs for eating.. Needs a little TLC in places.
Superb holiday cottage in great location.. Everything in the house was perfect.
One small gripe. It would of been nice to have had a pint of milk in the fridge included. Its only a small thing but after a long journey and arriving late we failed to get milk by mistake. If one had been in the house it would of been brillant.
The central heating was not working while we were there, but it was reported and we assume it was sorted out for the next visitors.. The shower in the en suite bathroom was leaking badly and not really usable, but again that was reported and we assume fixed. Generally the property was good but could do with some colour - everything is painted white.
Great location, 3 mins walk from Nisa supermarket for all basics and lovely pop up shops at arcade Dalegate market.. great walks from the house. lovely sunny garden, gets sun all day with some shade. Very well stocked kichen with lots of serving dishes
Only negative is that sofa need replacing as it is very saggy with no support on one side..
Great house to use as a base to see different parts of Norfolk.. Lovely and quiet.

Some of the furnishings in the house are getting a bit tired although the new kitchen was a great improvement
Thanks for another fantastic stay at 38 Dale End.. This was our third visit to spend new year with our parents and the property once again proved comfortable for 7 people ranging from age 6-80. The new kitchen this year is a definite plus to this cottage.
Most of the lounge furniture needs replacing, sagging sofa's etc, kitchen needs overall but all facilities are in place better than some we have stayed at and great location for pets with quiet lane at rear of property..
Mr Cleaver, May 2017
Lovely cottage in a great location.. Great facilities and well thought out contents in house and kitchen. More spacious than the pictures suggest. Friendly and responsive owner. A great place to stay while visiting North Norfolk.
Mrs Evesden, November 2016
Very pleasantly surprised with the house.. It was very well appointed, comfortable and clean and situated in a very quiet area. The bedrooms were a good size and with three couples sharing the three bathrooms were a bonus. The house is in a great location for coastal walks and exploring the local area. Only a short walk away is a well stocked NISA shop, petrol station and a few other shops. There is also a café and we enjoyed a nice lunch there on our first day. We can thoroughly recommend the Sunday lunch at the Jolly Sailors pub just down the road.
Mr Baines, November 2016
We were very pleased with the cottage and the location.. The only comment is that the information about the cottage did not mention the availability of WIFI. So we were not expecting this. But on arrival we found that there was a new WIFI Hub. We would suggest that this is added to the information that is available on-line, so that it is fully up to date.
Dr Sadler, October 2016
The property was spacious, well equipped and very quiet.. We did not expect wifi, but the router and username and password were available, although not noted in the welcome guide.
There is a local supermarket (NISA) and petrol station as well as other pop up shops. There are good local walks to the sea and along the coast. Both pubs in the village are OK, but have London prices.
Don't forget the free 5K parkrun at Holkham Hall every Saturday morning at 9am.
Mr Keeley, October 2016
Our second visit to this lovely property in the most special of locations.. Fabulous and we fully intend to visit again.
Great Location to explore the North Norfolk coast. Dale End is a quiet location, good sized enclosed garden safe for dog and kids. The house was a perfect size for large family with three good sized bedrooms, very enjoyable and comfortable stay.
This was an excellent base for the dog friendly beaches, and good shops and pubs were all within walking distance. We all felt very comfortable and were blessed with good weather.

The house was spacious and in a very convenient situation..
This house was perfect for a New Year break with our extended family. Well equipped to cater for the 7 people staying. Would definitely return to this property if we were staying in the area again. Excellent access for walks on the marshes.

We particularly liked the attention to detail - even down to position of mirrors, plug points etc, the wood burner and having an enclosed garden for my dog
