Lovely character cottage in the middle of a bustling village.. Cottage warm and comfortable. All the amenities we required were provided. Lovely little courtyard to sit and to enjoy a cup of tea/glass of wine. Street parking but no problems getting a space every day. Very good community shop. Pub looked lovely but no food served there at the moment. Walks out from the cottage and easy access to peaks and coast via road through village - some road noise was only downside.

Lovely Cottage, everything that you need for a holiday was provided, the owners were very nice & helpful.. Weather was not very nice, but that is something that you have got to put up with when you go on holiday in February. The cottage was lovely & warm to come back to.

Lovely little cottage with great walks close by.. Great communication from the owner who was very helpful and lives locally so on hand if needed. Local pub, the Punch Bowl, is only a 2 minute walk away and always had a very warm welcome from the staff and locals. Food is really good too and great value for money. The cottage is ideally situated to explore the stunning Yorkshire countryside, we went walking every day and found some really fabulous walks. Would highly recommend Askrigg, where All Creatures Great & Small was filmed. We got a local map with some lovely walks on it around the area. Cottage was very clean and big enough for us and our 2 dogs with a secure outside area at the back to let them out in. Only thing I would say is the cottage is on the main road through Burton in Lonsdale and traffic did tend to whizz past quite fast, despite the 20mph speed limit, which made it quite noisy at times.

Loved the cottage great little village and perfect place as a base to explore the fabulous area.. Only one downside the cottage has no place for clothes no wardrobe or chest of drawers if you stayed for more than a few days it would be nice not to live out of a suitcase and actually hang your clothes up

Lovely cottage with added bonus of a quaint little garden.. Parking was no problem, just make sure to park slightly on the curb as very large vehicles drive past the front. Our favourite thing on a night time was the solid fuel stove. Burning coal seemed better than wood. Really good shower in the large bathroom. All in all a lovely relaxing break. Our two dogs were happy too

Cottage was very clean and Facilities were really good.. It was a great base for getting out and about. Owners left us some filter coffee which was much appreciated. Only downside is cottage is for up to 4 people but that would be a real squeeze especially as only two seater couch and one armchair. Absolutely ideal for two and our two dogs though!

The cottage was well equipped, wifi was good.. We took 2 larger dogs and the enclosed outside areas were excellent, very safe. The weather was EXTREMELY hot and Greta river and Greta Woods just down the road from the cottage were fantastic, they played in the river (not deep or fast flowing but there had been no rain for some time), there were lots of walks in the woods, all in the shade. At the back of the cottage is a graveyard. I saw a local lady walk her dogs there, so that was very useful for the last thing in the evening walk. Burton is a lovely village and there are lots of really pretty villages and nice walks only a short drive away. The cottage was ideal and we loved the area.

We absolutely loved our stay at 3 Stonebowers Cottages.. The cottage itself was perfect - cosy, clean, with lovely views and perfectly situated for us between Lancaster and Kirkby Lonsdale, as well as the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales. Beautiful little village, too, which was an unexpected surprise. It served as a great base for us to explore the area prior to moving to Lancashire. Many thanks to the owners for our stay!

Absolutely fantastic cottage - cozy and clean, equipped with everything you need.. The owners were very helpful, leaving milk and biscuits for our arrival and helping to retrieve the iPad we left behind! Both beds are very comfortable and we all slept very well. The village itself is small but the pub and the shop are friendly and within a couple of minutes walk. We had a great new year in this cottage and hope to be back soon.

This is a beautiful holiday cottage. We wanted for nothing. It was lovely to have the stove in the living room going especially in July! The kitchen was well equipped and the dishwasher was a Godsend. The WiFi was particularly useful when it came to look for places to visit. We will definitely be back.
