We stayed here for a month and it felt just like home! A lovely little nineteenth century cottage kitted out with everything you’d want for a break. Two very comfortable bedrooms with lovely mattresses for a great night’s sleep. Good kitchen with everything you’d need and a comfy lounge with wood burning stove. Sion and Jane were on hand for any problems and very helpful with tips for the local area and even a lovely gift of some welsh cakes when we first arrived. Private parking takes a real bonus as there is limited street parking. A quick stroll into Ruthin town centre, with pubs and restaurants nearby as well as takeaways and a park. A really good spot for exploring north wales and even north west England. Thanks for a lovely break - will be back soon!

Excellent cottage clean warm and every thing you needed to make it home from home. Sean was very welcoming and helpful even down to telling us the best place to watch the rugby and where to eat and drink . Would love to go again

Clean and well-appointed. Everything you need for a comfortable holiday. Owner could not have been nicer or more helpful and patient. (I had quite a few questions) Good location for visiting Snowdon, Llandudno, Conwy, Llangollen, and Chester. All of which we did. Shop one block away and town about a 10 minuted walk. Note it is uphill going but makes coming home easier.

Number 27 Borthyn is a perfect little gem. Beautifully presented and very clean. Ideally located for trips to Rhyl, Bala, and Snowdonia. We couldn't have asked for anything more, comfy beds, roomy living room, powerful shower and well equipped kitchen. Bonus of plenty of space to park. Easy walk into Ruthin for a morning walk with the dog and breakfast from the bakery. Sion and Jane were very welcoming and the neighbours nice to chat to. Road can be busy during the day but quietens down at night, so not a problem to us. Recommended

This little cottage is a gem, clean and tidy with all mod cons, the kitchen is fitted with modern appliances and the bathroom has a fantastic shower with endless hot water. (sounds like an odd thing to point out but many cottages can often feel furnished with secondhand goods.) Ample parking and an outside sun trap perfect for breakfast or evening drinks. The location is ideal for trips in to the mountains or coast or even Liverpool if you fancy a day in the city. Ruthin has plenty to see and do with quirky shops, friendly pubs and loads of takeaways. The welcome Chinese across the road was a firm favourite. Sadly for for us the weather was warm and mostly sunny so no chance to get the wood burner going so we will just have to visit again later in the year to give it a go. Special mention to Sion and Jane who were very caring hosts, calling before we left home to make sure we could find the cottage, popping in to check we had settled in and could work the modern appliances and just a phone call away if we needed them. I can promise you we will be staying here again.

27 Borthyn was the perfect base for us to explore beautiful North Wales (the coast and Snowdonia national park). It is comfortable walking distance to Ruthin's pretty town centre. The property is spotless yet cosy (refurbished from top to bottom). We had everything we needed for our stay and the complimentary Barra Brith (Welsh tea cake) was a welcome surprise! We loved our stay here (including the dog!) and would highly recommend.

The cottage was ideally situated for us in Ruthin and we were able to visit all our favourite haunts easily.. Having McColls close by meant we were able to buy newspapers, fresh bread and milk easily. Although the cottage was on a busy main road, it didn't impinge on our enjoyment of this comfortable cottage.

Cottage facilities were perfect.. The owners were very generous in providing a welcome pack, as well as extra logs for the log burner part way through our stay. Nothing was too much trouble and any queries we had were dealt with swiftly and efficiently. All shops and amenities were within easy walking distance and we would heartily recommend a visit; we will be returning in the near future.

A lovely snug cottage in a quiet historic Welsh market town surrounded by hills and countryside.. A number of pubs and quality restaurants, shops and supermarkets within 15 minutes walking. Some road noise but nothing much. Fantastic walks in the hills and along rivers from the doorstep. Xmas welcome pack very generous. Communications with owners also good. Recommend.

27 Borthyn is a beautiful property and is ideally located for the amenities in Ruthin and the surrounding area. The property has off-street parking at the rear and is within 5 minutes walk of the town centre: shops, restaurants and bars. The hosts, Sion and Jane, are very attentive and are always available to help out. I was based in Ruthin for work and would thoroughly recommend this property to anyone else who may require to stay in the area for similar reasons. It’s an ideal property for holidays and a great base to explore the North Wales countryside.

After an horrific experience with another cottage booked with this company to which no satisfactory reply was give (or concession for this property) we were delighted to arrive at this charming, tastefully modernised, sparklingly clean property. Full marks to the owners, Jane & Sion, for their marvellous effort to update this historic building, giving it just the right degree of character alongside up to date facilities. Every aspect has been taken to make this a comfortable, comforting abode, which we were in sore need of, being in Ruthin for the funeral of a dearly loved parent; it eased the pain & we were even able to enjoy a short break in this lovely market town.

The cottage was lovely, spotlessly clean and very comfortable.. Distance to the main square was just a five minute walk. Beautiful park walks just around the corner. Sion provided all information needed before we arrived and called in to check if everything was ok. Beautiful cottage, great location with off road parking, would recommend if you are looking for a town centre location.

Cottage was fabulous .. Very clean , and with excellent facilities , including very good parking . Just on the edge of Ruthin , with a convenience store and petrol station within easy walking distance . Ruthin centre was a 10 min. walk up an incline . The town is really nice , with a couple of supermarkets for your food shopping , independent shops and pubs and restaurants. The only reservation I had was that the back garden is not secure , so if you are taking your pet you will need to exercise them at the local park , which is about 100 yds away and again is very nice. This did not spoil our holiday , and was really only a minor niggle against all the plusses the cottage had to offer . Owner Sion was brilliant . A really nice guy , and very knowledgeable about the area . I would nt hesitate to rebook or recommend this cottage to anyone with or without pet.

Cottage was perfect, owners were helpful and very friendly.. Ideal location for walking into centre of town and travelling to other locations. Not a major issue for us, but as had a dog would have helped if rear of property was secure.

This was high quality accommodation in a small town with its traditional shops.. The facilities in the property were excellent virtually all brand new and we were made most welcome by the owner Sion. The house provided a great base for visiting many villages and attractions in North Wales.
