2 Siluria Cottage is a semi-detached cottage in a rural location 3 miles from Walton near Presteigne. There is a king-size double bedroom, which can be offered as a twin by prior arrangement, a further double and a single room too. There is a family bathroom with bath, shower over, basin and WC. The kitchen is well equipped and has a dining area, and there is a sitting room with a woodburner. Outside is a garden with patio and furniture. With great walking from the door, 2 Siluria Cottage is a perfect base for a relaxing year-round break.

Three bedrooms: 1 x double, 1 x twin (zip/link, can be king-size double on request), 1 x single. Ground floor bathroom with bath, shower cubicle, basin and WC. Well-equipped fitted kitchen with dining area. Sitting room with woodburner.

Area
Situated just one mile from the famous Offa's Dyke Pathway, the small hamlet of Walton is home to the delightful Walton Court Farm and a welcoming village pub. Also within a mile is the beautiful Radnor Forest which offers excellent cycling and rambling opportunities. Slightly further away is the pleasant town of Kington - a renowned place amongst walkers, due to its setting and the pretty rolling hills of The Marches. There are also a number of good shops, pubs and restaurants in the town itself. The Mortimer Trail and walks to Hergest Ridge provide visitors to the region with the chance to see the inspiration for music by Elgar and Mike Oldfield whilst the market town of Hay-on-Wye - often called the 'town of books' is within easy driving distance. Hereford too is not far and offers an impressive Norman cathedral and the famous Mappa Mundi.

Excellent cottage, super clean when we arrived, containing everything we needed for a lovely holiday.. Owners live nearby and were really friendly and helpful with advice on local area. Everything we wanted for a quiet week away, secure garden for the children and gated lane so they were safe going up and down on their scooters. Lots of walks near by and friendly herd of cows as our neighbors! Would highly recommend and can't wait to return.

The cottage was easily found by SatNav (many of the local roads are single track), and was warm and welcoming on arrival.. Both heating and wood burner worked well. Bedding and towels were clean and fresh. I had no phone signal, but that's likely to be provider dependent. There are no street lights and it's quiet-which we love. The neighbour feeds the birds, so we were lucky enough to see woodpeckers at close range. WiFi was excellent (important for the WiFi dependent offspring). Bathroom was of good size, warm (it had both a heated towel rail and radiator), and the shower was excellent. We used dishwasher and washing machine: both of which worked extremely well (though we couldn't find instructions in the cottage-luckily there was WiFi). You should be aware that the kick board hadn't been cut out to allow the dishwasher door to open easily, so the door does rise up and over it-making it feel as if you've broken it-but it is fine. There was a good supply of cutlery and crockery (often lacking on other cottages, which often only give you one of each item). We like cooking so found kitchen pans & utensils adequate but not extensive, and did wonder if they'd be sufficient for 5 like minded-adults (we were a party of 3 adults). Under counter fridge was of good size (with a small freezer at the top-useful for ice cubes and a bag or two of frozen goodies). Neighbours friendly but not intrusive. Excellent walks within 10-20 minutes drive, and only half hour to Elan Valley. Our only disappointment was that we didn't find the games which had been mentioned in the description (luckily we'd taken our own) and that we had to come home.

Staying at 2 Siluria feels like coming home.. As we travel from Australia it is amazing to be met with such a comfortable cottage, and great hosts who are full of information and ready to help us settle in. The location is serene, and intoxicating. Not too far from the necessities but perfect for anyone looking for peace and quiet. I will always recommend 2 Siluria to everyone.

The cottage exceeded expectations, being very clean and well presented.. All the amenities you would expect are provided, including a nice care package (including wine!) left by the owner, which was a very nice touch. The cottage is also very well situated, with great walking opportunities on the door step / in the local area with various levels of challenge to suite the individual. Overall, we were very pleased with our stay and would consider booking again in the future.

We would definitely recommend staying here. Delightful cottage that everything we needed for a comfortable week away from home. Really friendly and helpful owners- including their lovely log who popped past the gate much to our sons amusement! Horses from one side and cows from the other. Birds outside the window on feeder- woodpecker was lovely. Such a gorgeous little escape! Our party consisted of four adults (Grandma, Grandad, Mum, dad and a one year old). The three bedrooms were more than adequate. I’d read before we went that the king size bed wasn’t in the master bedroom but this isn’t a concern for us at all! My only sadness is that it was too mild to have the log burner on every night (not much to complain about in October is it!). A previous review had mentioned not being able to use he conservatory but the leaflets were all on the self and the two chairs mean it was a very peaceful and beautiful place to enjoy a Morning cup of tea or afternoon read.£ Note for anyone who might be cooking from home a lot- we found Sainsbury’s and Asda offered home delivery- small freezer section in the fridge so a bag of frozen peas, strudel and some ice fitted in perfectly! Thanks to the owners xx

A great place to get away from it all in a lovely cottage located in the lovely Welsh countryside. Beautiful views to nearby hills, and located in a popular area for hiking. The owner is very nice and having grown up in the region she is well placed to offer advice on things to see and do. There is a great range of tourist brochures in the cottage which should satisfy anyone's interests. I stayed with my four young children and we all had a memorable experience. I would thoroughly recommend this cottage to anyone who is looking for peace and quiet in a beautiful setting.

A wonderful secluded holiday cottage and a very good base for touring the borderlands between Wales and England. The property really helped make the holiday being in excellent condition and we appreciated the cottage being stylish and uncluttered - very necessary with a 16 month old reaching for everything! We would definitely recommend this property to all and will probably find ourselves back there as we seek to investigate more of the surrounding area.

We loved the cottage and its immediate surroundings. The quality of the cottage and its contents is high so it's very comfortable. It's also very quiet, very peaceful, with just friendly and curious cows as your neighbours. At night it gets really dark (completely different from what you would find in the average city), and you can only hear the occasional sheep or bird. Wonderful!

We stayed here with our two boys aged 6 and 9, and were pleasantly surprised with the quality. Clean throughout, good linen, towels (supplied, unlike many cottages) and furnishings, good equipment in the kitchen, and free wifi throughout. The cottage is set along a quiet private drive, is semi-detached and has room for a couple of cars. The downstairs features a lean-to style conservatory, lounge, kitchen and downstairs bathroom with shower. Upstairs has three bedrooms. The main bedroom and second bedrooms were spacious and the third bedroom (which our 9 year old chose!) was smaller (watch the door on the bed). Outside has a large enough grassed area for the boys to charge about on. There's a table with 6 chairs and two loungers. There is use of a summer house, but it's down the road, past the owners' cottage so we didn't really use it. The bedrooms all had relatively low windows, so easy enough for children to open; it would have been better to have some way to secure them against opening too far. The main bedroom has the double with the second bedroom having the king/twin room. I felt it would have better to have the kingsize in the main bedroom, but I'm fussy over bed sizes. The description mentioned a selection of books, games and DVDs; we only found a handful of DVDs and some magazines, certainly no games which would have been useful for the wet days! For: Location - once our boys stopped making noise (eg, bedtime), all you could hear were the sheep, cows and birds! Quality of the fittings and so on Somewhere for the boys to run about safely Provision of things like cleaning equipment, tea-towels, dishwasher tablets etc Against (minor ones!): Downstairs bathroom - we knew about this before booking, but it is the only bathroom, so if you need to get up in the night, it's a trip downstairs. Summer house - again, we guessed from the description that it wasn't near by. Conservatory wasn't really usable as it has local leaflets spread around the room on the shelf, and houses the cushions for the chairs and loungers, a BBQ, logs for the fire, and the recycling. We would definitely go back!

Siluria 2 cottage really is great! It is spacious, well kept, tastefully decorated and has all the comfort you could hope for. Add to that the very friendly owners (who live close by) and you already have a great place to stay. But what really makes this cottage outstanding are the surroundings. It is more or less in the middle of nowhere, at the end of a mile long dead-end street. Consequently, it is very quiet. The only things you will hear are birds, cows (who will come to greet you!) and sheep. No people, no cars. At night, it gets as dark as nights are supposed to be. It is, in one word, arcadic. And if you should want to see other peope again, you can always make an excursion. There are lots of things to see and do.

Siluria cottage was warm and welcoming with a welcome pack of basic food from the owners. We had an endless supply of logs for the wood burner. The owners were on hand if we needed anything. The cottage was spotlessly clean and the beds very comfortable! Beautiful countryside and hospitable inns nearby.

This is a beautiful cottage with wonderful views and tucked away from traffic. The owners were very helpful finding us a taxi service, and even sent back my daughters dresses which she left hanging in the wardrobe. I would happily return, just sorry the visit wasn't for longer.

This property is sat in an exceptional location near Walton - Mid Wales. The Accommodation is beautiful, spacious and clean and the views from the patio are nothing less than just stunning. Lynne and Adrian the proprietors are extremely pleasant and left us all the basic necessaries on our arrival for the week. It is quiet, warm and very homely with a lovely log fire to relax around in addition to the oil fired heating. Its very spacious, with an additional stunning summerhouse to relax in. Lots of pubs and small restaurants in the local villages. We spent the week horse riding and walking. This is really a 'Jem of a Property' and we are definitely coming back very soon. Perfect for the ultimate rest and relaxation with stunning surroundings and scenery.

I was there for a couple of days at the beginning of January and had been delayed on my journey by adverse weather conditions. I was very grateful for the thoughtful welcome, provision of enough to make a hot drink and lovely warm, lit woodburner in the lounge. We had contact with the owners but they left us to our own devices as well. It was a perfect balance, very restful in beautiful surroundings in spite of the weather.
