A warm welcome from Mary, who showed us around the cottage and answered a few questions abut the area.. Mary was always on-hand to answer any queries we had, but was unobtrusive and made it clear that we were to feel at home while we were staying. The cottage was compact, but warm, clean and comfortable. The master bedroom was comfortable with ample wardrobe space for our stay. The were were plenty of power points and the WiFi worked very well. All appliances worked as expected. Burry Port town centre was around a quarter of an hours walk from the cottage which is situated above the town. Burry Port itself was typical of an out-of-season coastal holiday town, but we expected that booking at the end of November. As we planned a fair bit of walking, this was not an inconvenience.
There are some spectacular views from Burry Port harbour, especially when the tide was out, and the Millenium Coastal Path runs through the harbour, which gave some pleasant, well surfaced and level walking in either direction from Burry Port. The neighbouring towns of Pembrey and Pwll are in easy walking distance from Burry Port if you wanted to explore. Carmarthen and Swansea are reachable by a short train journey. We went to Carmarthen by train and enjoyed the views along the coast and estuary.
All in all, a very enjotable break, with the cottage a great place to come "home" to. Many Thanks Mary
