Might be worth mentioning that there's no toilet facilities upstairs.. Apart from that the cottage was great, very quirky. Sofa and seating could maybe do with an upgrade. Having said that, we really enjoyed our stay. The garden was great for wildlife and we spent a lot of time just sitting in the conservatory watching the hares, rabbits, even deer. The Cottage had everything we needed. We loved it.
Wonderful location.. ...views and deer in the garden one morning. Hares and woodpeckers!!! Just amazing and will definately be coming back!
We enjoyed our holiday at the cottage.. The conservatory is fantastic and the seating is quite comfortable. However in the lounge whilst the furniture is quaint I didnt find it that comfortable. My husband went to sit in the settee, he is only 10st, and I saw the sagging underneath straight away and advised him not to sit in it. The Sofa, which is antique sagged badly and when I checked some of the Webbing underneath it was either broken or frayed badly. If a heavier person sits in it then they could find that the seat breaks. The kitchen is enormous and has a utility room has a little clothesline in it which is perfect for drying things overnight. The other downside is the lack of hanging space, if there are just two people the downstairs bedroom has a chest of draws and a hanging rack. whilst the upstairs bedroom didnt have anything but the hanging rack. The location is great and the grounds are quite large.
The Wifi is practically non existent. I was notified by the owner just before going that it was always fading in and out. I only managed to upload one set of photos to my facebook page on the Saturday we arrived. The rest of the week I didnt manage to even get onto the internet despite trying different times of the day. I therefore feel thaat is miss leading to state that it has wifi.
The cottage was lovely and comfortable in a very peaceful environment.. Loved walking down Clay Street and the surrounding footpaths. We stayed in November but I can imagine this place being fantastic in the spring and summer. Would highly recommend.
The photo does not do the cottage justice! We were very impressed by the thoughtfulness and overall attractiveness of the house. There were flowers and milk waiting for us! The house had been renovated to a very high standard......... beautiful bed linen and furniture, a fully stocked kitchen, and lots of books, DVD's and family games to play. Although the bedrooms were small, and the layout a little quirky, there were several large family rooms on the ground floor full of light, and a large garden to the rear, and off road parking. The lane on which the house sits is beautiful and quiet........... lots of farmland and footpaths from the front door, and a dozen pubs and restaurants near by. A very enjoyable stay. Thank you so much.
Lovely comfortable property.. Tea and cake were left out to greet us on arrival. - a lovely touch.
The large back garden with open views were enjoyed every evening.
