17 Moorside description

Holiday home
17 Moorside is a stone-built cottage located near the village of Oxenhope in West Yorkshire. The cottage sleeps two people, and has a double bedroom and a family bathroom. On the ground floor there is a kitchen, a sitting room with oak beams and a dining area. Outside there is roadside parking for one car. 17 Moorside is ideal for families all year round for walking, cycling and exploring the Yorkshire countryside including the popular village of Haworth which is close by.

The small village of Oxenhope lies amid wonderful scenery, and offers the chance to take advantage of the multitude of walks in the area. The village, with its shops, churches and pubs, is home to the terminus for the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway, an authentic steam railway brought to prominence in the film The Railway Children, which runs on a regular basis to Haworth and on down to Keighley. The area was made famous by the Bronte sisters, and the outstanding countryside was famously described in the novel Wuthering Heights as wild, rugged and barren.

From heather-clad moors and limestone scars, to market towns and the steady pace of country life - the sublime Dales await you! Where else in Britain is it as satisfying to sit and do nothing as it is to explore the numerous pursuits on offer?

Gas central heating. Electric oven and gas hob, fridge/freezer, washing machine, tumble dryer, dishwasher, Smart TV with Freeview and Netflix, WiFi. Fuel and power inc. in rent. This is a lovely cottage - spacious but cosy. The kitchen has everything you need to cook anything you might fancy. The huge bed is really comfy. There is plenty of hot water for the roll top bath. The views are awesome. There are some amazing walks from the doorstep, or just a short drive away. And Tracy, the host, is really friendly and helpful

This lovely cottage was very clean, well equipped and there was nothing else we needed. All the rooms are spacious but cosy and the bed itself was extremely comfortable and large. The bedroom and lounge have stunning views of scenic rolling hills with horses and sheep dotted about. We sat on the bench 'out back' and drank wine whilst admiring the views. From the cottage there are plenty of walks straight from your doorsteps or you can venture a short walk into Howarth itself for pubs/restaurants/local shops etc. making it ideally situated. We loved our stay and will be back soon, the property and it's location are both highly recommended.

If your thinking of going to stay here go! Exceeded our expectations, from the warm welcome to extremely well appointed cottage. Extra comfy bed, and thoughtful extras. Day after day of walking from the door, spectacular scenery and the odd trip to one of the pubs that are just a walk away. Already planning when we can return.

This little Cottage was perfect for us to disappear for a short while and have a really quiet rest away from it all in an area we know very well.. Everything we needed was provided and the Cottage was very clean and tidy and fully stocked with household needs even down to toilet rolls ! No noise and Car Parking at the door ! Beautiful scenic views from the lounge and bedroom windows with the Jacob sheep never far away ( no noise ! ). Very convenient for our trips to Hebden Bridge, Haworth, Skipton and Harrogate and the SatNav never got lost once. Oxenhope Station is the first on the old Steam railway trip to Keighley. We new what we wanted before we left home and this little cottage supplied it all.

This charming comfortable cottage is located in a quiet spot but it is not isolated. It is one and a quarter miles from Haworth, the home of the Bronte sisters so it is ideal for visiting places of interest connected with them. It is also a perfect spot for walkers. Many walks can be accessed from the cottage. The cottage is well equipped and the bed is the most comfortable I have ever slept on. The views from the cottage are stunning. We had a lovely relaxing stay and plan to return.

For people like us who enjoy outdoor activities but at the same time like to be within easy reach of other places of interest this charming comfortable cottage provided it all.. It is set in the heart of Bronte country with picture postcard views tranquil but not remote.

Lovely location , very clean and we equipped . Very large comfortable bed . For us the best feature was it's central location for walking . We covered about 70 miles in the South Pennines In 6 days at different places from Ponden to Hebden Bridge and Including a stroll into Haworth through the country park on our arrival day for lunch thanks to our hosts allowing us in early to store our perishable food . They also met us to show us how everything worked from wi-fi to recycling

What a wonderful cosy cottage with fantastic views! The cottage itself was charming and had everything we needed for our stay. The owner Tracey was lovely + the extra touch of trifle + wine was just what we needed after a 5 hour car journey! The cottage is the perfect base to visit the area, with the beautiful town of Haworth being only a 30minute walk away (5 mins in the car), the steam railway / museum is also worth a visit! We will definitely be staying there again and recommending the cottage to family / friends.

What a fantastic holiday cottage! Everything you could ask for and the views were incredible, the pictures do not do it justice. The whole booking process was quick and easy, and the owner Tracey was lovely, going the extra mile to make sure we had all the information about the cottage / directions before our stay. We will definately be visiting the cottage again and would recommend to family + friends.

Superb location for walking in the South Pennines , we did about 70 miles that week with 6 long walks at different locations which the cottage was centrally positioned for eg Ponden and Hebden Bridge as well as a lovely stroll through the country park to Haworth for lunch on arrival day.. (Thanks to the owners allowing us in early to store our food .) Lovely and clean greeted on arrival and shown how everything worked such as Wi-Fi ,TV and recycling system. The bed is enormous and very comfortable . Plenty of hot water for much needed baths and showers

The photos do not do this cottage justice: I was pleasantly suprised and my expectations were massively surpassed. I could not have asked for a better location. The cottage itself was charming and homely and a lot bigger than the pictures suggest. The views are what makes this cottage so special. Words could not do the views justice but if i were to descrive them in a few words id say you'd find it hard to look away. The bed itself is huge enough to fit 4 small people in so you have plentiful space to spread out. The bed does not compare to the luxurious and deep filled traditional bath and you find yourself ignoring the shower more and more. Tracy and Michael the hosts went above and beyond and are such lovely and friendly folk. It was coming up to Easter when I got a knock at my door only to be surprised with an Easter egg chocolate basket! This had to be my highlight of my stay because it was not expected but they did it anyway. I would definitely recommend to friends and family and would certainly come again. Many thanks for such a wonderful stay

Perfect little quiet cottage for a couple or single person.. Close to the tourist attractions in Haworth but nicely away from the main drag. Highly recommend.

What an absolute pleasure our stay at 17 Moorside turned out to be. The views are unbelievable.......(fellas, if your better half has ever told you that you're not as romantic as you used to be, surprise her by whisking her to this cottage pronto). It is very comfortable and well appointed. We were made to feel very welcome by Tracey the owner, who provided a fantastic welcome package. You really don't need to bring much at all. There are lots of lovely walks and better still some great local pubs. Book with confidence.

17 Moorside is a lovely cosy cottage which is very well equipped - a definite home from home.. The owners were so warm and friendly, and provided some really thoughtful extra touches. Plus the bed was the comfiest I've ever slept in! The views from the cottage were breathtaking and it was so relaxing and peaceful sitting outside watching the birds and wildlife - plus of course the sheep in the neighbouring field which really made us laugh at times! The cottage is in a great position for sight seeing and Hebden Bridge, Ilkley Moor and Malham Cove are a must! All in all we had a lovely stay and can’t wait to go back and explore more of this stunning part of the country.

This was a very peaceful and homely cottage with beautiful moorland views from the lounge and bedroom.. We had a very warm welcome from Michael and Tracey and lots of treats and finishing touches which were much appreciated. With the comfiest bed we can remember from which we could see out over the hills, we never wanted to get up each morning whatever the weather. It was good to have lots of storage space especially in the kitchen, where normally we find cupboards full of unnecessary and fragile china which we have to take care not to touch and no room for our packages and tins etc. We felt so at home and look forward to another visit soon.
