There are several pretty beaches within a short distance, including North Sands and South Sands, plus the coves East Portlemouth on the opposite side of the estuary, just a short passenger ferry ride away. Also on your doorstep is the National Trust property Overbeck’s where you can wander through the subtropical gardens. Why not have a more adventurous day and try out the watersports available on the estuary including surfing, coasteering, kayaking or a more leisurely boat trip? Whilst staying in Salcombe, take advantage of the locally sourced seafood which is served in many of the restaurants, pubs, cafés and delicatessens. The southern tip of Devon provides some spectacular scenery and picturesque vistas with a number of sandy beaches, lovely villages with thatched cottages and some fantastic opportunities for walking on the South West Coast path.

The apartment is situated in a lovely part of Salcombe with reasonably easy access to the centre.. The bedroom and bathrooms are spacious and well appointed. However the living areais too small for the amount of people it purports to cater for. If full it would be impossible for everyone to sit on the sofas and at the dining table. Also some of the fittings are of very poor quality particularly the pans and the lounge cushions. Our main disappointment however was the extremely poor level of cleaning, particularly in the kitchen area. The cupboard doors, handles and work surfaces are very dirty. The toaster was also very dirty. We had to wash most of the glasses, cups, cutlery, plates and bowls in the dishwasher before we could use them. Totally unacceptable! We have stayed in other Coast and Country properties and have never had this problem before. These problems need to be addressed ASAP!
