Holiday home
Levante is an end-terrace cottage located in the town of Cowes on the Isle of Wight. It comes with three bedrooms; a triple room, a king-size with an en-suite and a double room, there is also a family bathroom, the property can sleep up to seven people. Also inside there is a kitchen, a dining room and a sitting room. As this is a town location, off road parking is available for 1 small to medium car at Cross Street car park. Levante is an excellently located cottage. perfect for exploring the Isle of Wight.

Over three floors. Three bedrooms: 1 x second floor triple room with double and single, 1 x king-size with en-suite shower, basin and WC, 1 x double. Ground floor bathroom with shower over bath, basin and WC. Kitchen. Dining room (seats 6). Sitting room (seats 6).

Area
The port of Cowes is by the mouth of the river Medina on the north coast of the Isle of Wight. It is split into East and West Cowes, both have much to offer, with West Cowes a world-famous yachting centre, with watersports facilities, as well as the cycling gateway to the island. It has a beach and a wealth restaurants, inns and niche shops. East Cowes is known for Osborne House. Cowes is ideal for exploring the island with its beaches, walking country, chines and family attractions such as the The Needles and the Isle of Wight music festival.

The Isle of Wight, with its beaches, unspoiled scenery, rich heritage and over 500 miles of award-winning public footpaths is a walker’s paradise, or if sailing is your thing, the renowned annual Cowes Week is not to be missed.

Please do not waste your money visiting this filthy little place! Firstly the car parking spot had overflowing bins in it, then you make your way up a dingy little alley to be greeted by a very different looking house to the pictures that were clearly taken years ago. When entering you will smell the damp fustiness and be greeted with the most filthy looking carpet & sofas ! My wife was in tears , and we spent hours finding alternative accommodation which was very difficult in August. We had to endure 3 nights in this hole ( next to bus stop & taxi rank very noisy throughout the night ) until we moved to a proper holiday let through Airbnb. Sykes holiday rentals is the most awful company and just keep fobbing you off saying it’s the owners responsibility, of which the owners seem to think the endless problems could have been resolved, I don’t see how you can re carpet,replace sofas , fit new en-suite, carry out damp proofing, carry out up to date pat testing, fix lighting pendant etc etc could be carried out while we were staying! It needs bull dozing I’m afraid

DO NOT BOOK!! This is the filthiest property we have ever stayed in. The carpets and sofas were revolting! There were stains up the walls, rusty shower which was broken. There were weeds and rubbish outside. The so called parking space could house a bike and is not suitable for even a small car. The cutlery and kitchen utensils were filthy. The floors were sticky. Pat testing was not up to date. Door didn’t shut. Stain if something in drawer. Pair of tights behind set of drawers. There was a light with wires exposed! Immediately contacted Sykes cottages who we booked through to report issues. Owner refused to take responsibility and would not compensate as said issues could be easily rectified, yet they were not! Furthermore no mention in advert that property is outside tax rank and bus stop, noisy with people fighting outside on a Friday night! Shame on the owners and shame on Sykes for also not offering compensation!

The house was really centrally located. Which made going out for meals or popping to the shops so easy. Cowes is right on your doorstep. So a great place to as a base for exploring Cowes and then the rest of the Island isn’t far away. There was allocated parking a short walk from the house. But you could drop off things really close by then go and park. You then didn’t need your car, unless you wanted to leave Cowes. The house had three lovely bedrooms, that were ultra clean and tastefully decorated. I slept really well, as the bed was very comfy. The kitchen was well-equipped, but to be fair we mainly ate out! The smart TV was a bonus, so we could sign in to Netflix, with comfy sofas. I hold certainly book this again if I was coming back to Cowes.

The house is lovely but it’s super noisy outside at night.. There is a taxi tank right under the bedroom window which makes for very loud late night conversations and also made it impossible to leave the bedroom window open. This really effected how much we enjoyed the house.

We were a party of three adults and a dog.. An extra key would have been helpful, it's not always possible to use the key-safe as one (or more) may be still inside and locked in.

If you want a holiday destination with access to all town facilities, Levantine is the place for you.. M & S food store (open for breakfast) 50m, High Street 50m. Importantly it has its own reserved parking space, but it's not adjacent to the house. Tip: for loading/unloading use one of the 2 bays next to the M & S taxi rank, where you can stop for 45 minutes. In that do not drive down Cross Street. The house has been refurbished to a very high standard and is a very comfortable base for an IOW holiday.
