On arrival to the property, the hot tub was filthy and cold and Sykes had failed to pass on relevant or any information. This led to us not being able to access the property and when we did, we had to hunt for and construct the cot and high chair after a 6 hour journey with 2 exhausted children. The house also smelt strongly of dog and there were some dog hairs on the sofas in the lounge. The general cleanliness of the property was unacceptable and we have taken multiple photos and videos to validate this claim. We really feel that for £270 per night, this property should have been of a much higher standard. It didn’t even come close to meeting our expectations or matching the surrounding competition. To list a few things… Cooker hood not working and filthy, with dead insects inside. Cooker light broken Filthy, greasy light fittings. Old and hard towels. Grimy run down garden with rubbish stacked under windows which created a huge issue with flies inside the property. Water pooling on oversized steps and drop off, causing a dangerous hazard. Poor installation of hot tub. Dust and dirt all over the back of the rugs. Bathroom floor grimy, bath panel stuck with tape and an old, poor performing shower with dangerous heat regulation. Cheap, grubby off centre toilet seat. Master bedroom tiny and untenable. The list goes on. To be blunt this property is not worth the price we paid and we expected so much more. To add insult to injury the owners behaviour in dealing with our issues was completely unprofessional and really disappointing. Absolutely no excuse for a property to be this dirty. She should be ashamed. Please avoid at all costs.

1 the Barn is in a beautiful location but that’s all it has going for it - the property was left dirty, the hot tub was cold & filthy on arrival & there was a strong smell of dog, as well as dog hairs on the sofas. The owner arranged to have someone clean the hot tub but after that, ignored our attempts at communication & has refused to lisae with us since we arrived home. Had it not been for our 2 young children, we would have packed up & come home - not worth the money we paid!!
